Feeling 'Full' after eating...
Well I am not a vet but I too worry that I don't get the same responses with eating like so many others. I was 3 weeks out yesterday. I am able to eat comfortably about 3-4 ozs per meal and tonight I was famished......I felt like I may have eaten too much but did not feel overstuffed. I never feel like I am going to get sick or have trouble swallowing. Tonight I ate the entire fish from a lean cuisine. I did't have but two bites of the rice and I was full but not miserable. I know that tonight the fish had to be larger than 4 ozs so I really just don't know. My scale really hasn't moved much over the last week and I know that I am not supposed to weigh everyday but I do. I am so frightened that I am doing something wrong. I just try to reach my calories, carb and protein guidelines and imagine that in 3 months I maybe like so many others (losing like 50 pounds in 3 months) but I don't see how that is going to happen. I just keep hoping that I will not stay discouraged as I have been the past 3 days. I am swimming nightly for at least 30 minutes, sometimes an hour. I never feel full but never feel starved.
I can understand, but I am still early out.. I measure 2oz of meat, and some days (like last night) can only eat 1.25 oz.. I have no room for veggies at the moment... and unless I want to start "snacking" on them, I don't eat but a bite on occasion.
Most days I can eat 2oz, but it still takes me a while to finish. If I gave myself a strict 20 min window, I think I'd normally be at 1.5 oz. I don't get Tday dinner stuffed, but comfortably full/satisfied. Not complaining at all, as I'm not hungry and not mourning being able to eat more, but I may start breaking the "no snacking" rule of my Drs, as I do crave salads and veggies in general.
I've had it explained to me that some of us have longer or shorter stomachs, so even if the surgery was performed the same way, and made equally tight- some will have more or less volume to work with.

See i don't see how come I can eat more already.....you had your surgery in April and I just had mine. I am just going to pray that I am doing okay. I measure everything with the exception of tonight because I was so hungry and I needed something quick so I did the lean cuisine fish. Anyway, I don't see my doctor again until Nov 1st so I will give myself a couple of more weeks before I start to panic.
I don't know.. I know bougie size is part of the equation, how close they snug it to the guide, then there's also individual anatomy and all that. I would NOT panic though. You have restriction.. you are eating far less than you normally could eat. Work with what you've got.. just be mindful about it if you note that you can eat more than most.

I often feel like this and worse, I also feel a bit sick and have to lie down if I am at home :(
not pleasant at all. and this only from eating around 2 oz protein and a little something else. I too have no space for veggies... I miss having them.
I also don't like feeling full anymore, it's quite unpleasant. I wonder if it's indeed from eating too fast, I don't have patience to munch forever on a tiny amount of food. and I do eat more often than usual meals whenever I'm hungry otherwise I wouldn't get enough food.
nobody answered - does it still feel like this (the unplesant full feeling) on maintenance phase / forever?

I wish I could be helpful to you, but I never felt like that, so maintenance or no, I just cannot answer the does it pass.
I though, for the first yearish did not like that I could feel my tum digesting, it did not hurt I was just aware of it, and it was not a comfortable sensation, but what helped that was chewing a papaya enzyme after all of my meals. If I did that, then I did not notice my digestion, when I did not, I would feel my tummy about 30 minutes later and say "blurg" But no blurg with Papaya. I do not take the papaya now and do not notice my digestion, so maybe its the same feeling, we just sense it differently? But see if you can get some chewable papaya and see if it helps.
I got mine at Wal-Mart, over by the vitamins and whatnot.
Oh, and about the veggies - if you are just getting in only the minimums of protein eating it, and you really miss veggies, maybe ? have one shake a day and cut your protein per meal down to 1.5 ounces and have a bite or so of veggies without it hurting you? Maybe that could work for you? I dunno. Having to drink the shakes like I still do definitely freed me up to consume more than only protein, since I was not processing it properly anyway.

very interesting, B! thanks a lot... gonna bookmark this, resourceful as always. it could be the digestion but it's right after I eat so that's why I thought it's just a full feeling... I will try to figure this our from that point of view. papaya enzime sounds good, hopefully it also aides in the digestion itself, gonna give it a try.
I also don't have tons of real protein, probably more like once a day only. I rely a lot on shakes as you do... but I should try to eat some veggies soon, I really miss it... although the times I tried so far they felt really heavy in my stomach so I gave up and said to myself let me try this again in a few weeks... ;)
