Sad Death of DS Patient
Just a reminder to always go w/ surgeons who have a lengthy, vetted & stable track-records. Such a sad story... it makes me angry too.
Just remember folks... just because someone has, "Dr." in front of their name... that doesn't make them an expert. Choose your surgeon wisely and seek input from other WLS patients.

This story just hit my heart so hard this morning. Being young, we sometimes take this major surgery for granted. It just made me feel so blessed to be where I am today. I am just praying for her family and friends and the people who's lives she has touched. We will "see you on the other side" as were the last lines of her most recent blog.
Heartbreaking. Just awful.
From what I understand, her surgeon was Husted but then he backed out and Juarez stepped in. She decided to let Juarez do the surgery and was confident in him.
She was a beautiful young woman, inside and out. That is evident just reading her posts and her blog. This is a tragedy, and I hope something positive may someday come of it.
