New before/after pics

Hey everyone,
I haven't been on the board as much as I'd like, life has been busy. I haven't posted pictures in a while (since 35 pounds ago) and I had a few nice ones from the cruise my family just took, so I thought I'd stick em up here, as encouragement for those of you who maybe are earlier on in your journey and are wondering if it was all worth it. It is. I don't regret it for a single second.

Height: 5'9
Highest weight: 297 ->BMI=43.9
Day of surgery weight: 261
Current weight: 162 ->BMI=23.8 (Normal! woohoo!)

I was squeezing into size 26 jeans at my heaviest, and now if I wear spanx I can fit into a size 8 (ok, sometimes.... depends on the brand haha).

I'm scheduled for my first round of plastic surgery in less than a month, breast lift/augmentation and tummy tuck. Hopefully the arms and inner thighs will happen next year. I look good with clothes on, but naked is a whooooole other story.

I struggle with food every day, and I don't maintain my weight loss unless I watch every single bite that goes into my mouth and exercise religiously. It's hard work. If I get lazy and look the other way for a week I find myself up five pounds. But I'm so happy to be where I am, and so thrilled for everyone here who is on their own weight loss journey.

Wow! By the look of how that beautiful red dress fits, you wouldn't know you even needed a tummy tuck! I am one of those just a few months into my journey, going through the insurance hoops, and I personally love to see these "before/after" shots. Very uplifting when this waiting period seems so excruciatingly long. Thanks for sharing.

(note: my sister bought that dress at a yard sale for $7!) One word: SPANX!! I actually wore 2 pairs when I was in a wedding a few months ago (could barely breathe but it did the job). My plastic surgeon looked at me skeptically when I described to him the amount of skin I had, but once I disrobed and he saw for himself he was surprised at how much I managed to tuck away.

I know, the whole process is so slow and frustrating. But every minute you spend getting another doctor's letter or attending another nutritionist appointment is another minute closer towards your new body. It is worth it a million times over. What helped me was to read peoples' NSVs (or Non-Sleeve Victories). Because I identified with all of them. I remember someone once wrote "I can put a hair rubberband on my wrist and it doesn't make an indent anymore" and I thought OMG I WANT THAT!! Just today I noticed that I could wrap a towel around my body and have the ends meet in front. It almost brought me to tears because that hasn't happened since I was a little kid. You are going to get to experience all of these little daily joys too, and you're going to post some pictures that make people say "Wow!". I can't wait to see yours posted here. Thank you so much for the kind words. We're all in this together!

 Your post touched me so much! I start with orientation tomorrow and then comes 3 months of classes and all the appts and hoops I will need to go through. I come here to read the NSV's and I can see mine in the future. I'm so excited!!! :)
Concgrats, you look terrific!
