Sorry.....Gus is my baby and I can't give him up!

We had to get a King sized bed after Gus got over 100 lbs.

My husband gets up first in the morning and as soon as he gets out of the bed, Gus moves over to his side and lays his head on my husband's pillow.  During the winter, my husband will cover Gus up before he leaves.

One of the biggest problems with him sleeping in our bed is that he 1) has nigtmares that make him bark in his sleep 2) Gus has severe restless leg syndrome causing him to claw us and 3) he SNORES really loud.  I've told my pulmonologist that since my husband and I both have CPAP, I need to get one for the dog.  Maybe that would cure his nightmare and snoring!

Great NSVs! I have a 170 lb. St. Bernard. I know what ya mean about the leaning issue. I always say he thinks he is a lap dog, or a chihuahua! If you sit down, he will be in your lap as much as he can possibly fit.

As for the bed, THAT'S a big NEGATIVE! He thought he was going to be a bed dog, but I put a big stop to that at about 25 lbs!! I like my space!

Gus sounds like quite the character!

Gus thinks he's a lap dog too.  This is especially so if you sit down in "his" spot on the couch or try to root him out of "his" spot in the bed.

Nope...he's an English Mastiff 100%.  Although he has championship bloodlines, his breeder wanted to breed companion dogs not show dogs.  So he doesn't have all the wrinkles (less skin problems) and a tighter/drier mouth (less slobbers).  He doesn't look as "mastiffy" in my avatar because he's smiling so big!

I love your NSVs! In particular, your Gus stories! I have a scottie dog, Lady, who runs our household. Our fury daughter (who thinks she is people) had a kitty cat mom and she cannot understand why the other kittys don't want to play in the neighborhood. She doesn't like the birds flying over her property and she tells us when it is bedtime!

Can't wait until my VSG in Oct so I can feel some of these victories in turn. Best of luck to you and keep the stories coming!
