Doc wants to see more weight loss... ideas?

I wonder if I could have hemp. I have so many weird allergies. LOL. It's almost funny at this point. But not really.

Yeah, it seems like the stalling is normal and I was wondering later when I thought about it. 30 pounds in six weeks is average of 5 pounds per week... That 20 day stall at the start of week 3 really kind of annoyed the heck out of me. LOL.

I guess I was just seeing if anyone could think of anything I was missing... I have another appt in five weeks, so we'll see how it looks then.

My physician has said no more than 80 in protein, 30 carbs and no more than 600 calories until 6 months postop if the weight is coming off as it should.

Good Luck

 Hi Hon,

I can't believe what I'm reading!  I'm quite sure if you did a survey of this board and collected all of the weight losses from all of the sleeves you'd be doing g-r-e-a-t.  Why is this guy pressuring you to achieve such crazy numbers?  I'd lay off the idea of supercharging your loss and just go with the flow.  This isn't a race!  It's about your health, NOT about your doctor's ego!  Good luck and congratulations on your amazing numbers!

Let me clarify... he was NOT pushy about it, just would have liked and expected to see more. He said I'm doing everything I should be doing and just threw out a few ideas for me to try... I was just wondering if I was missing something else (like the cheese, I do admit, I have a huge cheese problem) LOL.

But yeah, I think I'm doing fine overall, but I also want to get the maximum mileage out of the honeymoon phase.

The exercise thing was if I had time or whatever, he was just giving me ideas as well because I asked for them. LOL

But yes, I think I'm doing fine. I'm not worried. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious here.

Frankly, I think he's nuts. I'd say "thank you" and keep on doing what you are doing. First month I lost 20 lbs, 12 the second, and between 8 to 9 each month thereafter. It's not a race, no matter what any one says !!!

Yeah, I'm thinking he'd like to see it and said to make me work harder. He may not realize that I actually AM working harder and ain't drinking milk shakes here everyday. Again, he didn't say it as disappointed, really, more of a "he'd like to see", he wasn't nasty or mean or anything about it - he's actually a really great guy. Adore him.

What about rice milk or coconut milk?

I'm surprised too!  But not with your doc's response.  If you're eating like that and exercising like that, I would think the pounds would be falling off.  So then you just need to remember that this is your journey, and you are going to win in the end.

Half the battle is being pleased with where you are at and if you're happy, your attitude will carry over into your nutrition and exercise plan in a very beneficial way.

Are you tracking your food on a website?  I'm looking for one.

Good luck and keep us posted.

It sounds like you are doing all the right things. If you're wanting to do something else, I'd suggest you increase the intensity of your exercise. if I'm not drenched in sweat at the end of the workout, I don't feel like I did enough. I don't do walking because it doesn't get my heartrate up enough. I usually do classes because they push me to work hard (I can't afford a trainer). Spinning, kickboxing, step aerobics all really get my sweat on. You might also want to add strength training since muscle really uses up a lot of calories. I take bodypump which is a strength class.
Good luck to you.

Thanks Eileen,

Yeah, I do strength training with my trainer twice per week (she and I barter services actually, the rest of them are either insurance paid or I just have to fork it over - funny because insurance didn't pay for my surger LOL). I've thought about doing a Zumba class or something at the 24HF I belong to. I dunno. As I lose weight, things are easier, but I'm still heavy enough that some of the zumba looks like something I'm not sure I could do. I think my neighborhood has a Zumba Gold class, maybe I'll try that. Yeah, we have body pump here too. Hmmm... maybe I'll mix it up a bit once school starts and I can go after dropping them at school (woot!)
