Incesions opened back up

I moved Monday to Texas, and no I didn't lift a thing, but my two largest incisions have completely opened up. I can actually see my inner stomach. I live 7 hours from my doctor, and have no insurance here. Over night one of them closed a little, but both are still oozing puss and blood. I am putting triple antibiotic ointment peroxide and stuffing with sterile gauze. I am laying very still and letting them breathe today. I guess I should go to the er to get stitches if not better by tomorrow. Really not sure what to do. Any suggestions accepted. I really don't have the money for the er.
Think positive, and all ur hopes and dreams will follow!

Oh, my goodness! Sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time. Go to the ER as soon as you can. Don't let the incisions stay open for too long so that you don't develope an infection. I hope you feel better soon!

Mmmmm, if you can see your inner stomach, I'd say RUN and not walk to the closest ER, like now.

I had incisions from hell that took a FULL 8 weeks (and they aren't closed 100% yet) to close up and scab up completely. For the the 1st 4-5 weeks, there were no scabs, and they were very open and I oozing and I could see a layer of white fat cells ( not my inner stomach). I saw 3 different docs because I was flipping out but at the end, my surgeon was not concerned and told me to leave it be.

Sooo maybe you don't need to go if you are exaggerating a little, but if not, Id suggest a visit. I know $$ might be tight, but it will be a bigger problem if they get infected and you need more intensive treatment.

Maybe u could go to a urgent walk in care that may be cheaper then the ER. I doubt they will re suture them close. They may have u be saline soaked guaze over them. And they will probably heal from the inside out. And u might need to start on an antibiotic. But I would have it looked at bc u don't want to get an infection which would let to even bigger problems. Also look for redness and fever. Good luck.

Oh, dear.. That sounds awful! I would have ran to the ER regardless of cost... Seeing your insides and puss does not sound good.

When a surgical incision starts to open, a problem called dehiscence, you need to call your surgeon. Even if it is minor, such as a suture pulling free and causing a small gap, the opening of an incision allows foreign material like bacteria inside of the wound. This increases the chances of your wound becoming infected and your wound opening further.

In rare cir****tances, the opening of a wound can become very serious by either completely opening or eviscerating, which means the internal organs begin to protrude outside of the body through the open incision.

What should you do if your wound is opening? If your wound has just started to dehisce, with only a small portion of the wound opening, cover it with a clean bandage and call your surgeon. If it is wide open, cover it, call your surgeon and plan to be seen by either your surgeon or an emergency room physician right away.

If your wound has both dehisced and eviscerated, follow these instructions and call 911.

Do not pack the wound with antibiotic ointment cuz that causes the healing process to stop. If you can really see past the "fatty" tissue of your incision then you must go to an urgent care or er

one of my larger incisions got infected and opened up.  My doc said it was a surface infection and to try triple antibiotic ointment.  I tried that for a couple of weeks and switched to just cleaning it with peroxide  and that worked better.  IT has been slow healing.  I am two months out and I still have a scab but it does not ooze any more. I also used butterfly strips to close the the incision; it helped once the infection cleared. I hear your dilemma my insurance ends the end of the month.  My question is did you burst the inner stitches or just the skin?  Could turn into a bad infection if it is deeper.
