My Dr. told me anything that will go through a strainer. I just bought canned soup and added milk if needed and strained it. Good luck with your recovery. Wishing you well!

I would get the regular cans of Campbells Chicken Noodle and warm that up (adding a can of water) and then strain the liquid into a large mug.

I think anything that is strained is fair game..most docs plans want you to stick with lower fat creamed soups like cream of potato, cream of chicken, cream of broccoli, cream of celery..

I had split pea and creamy tomato too, though some people avoid tomato because of the acid..

Make them with milk and even add a little non-flavored protein powder to the soup when it is cool, mix it in well before you heat it so it doesnt clump up..

Any cream soup that you like is good, but you have to strain it.  I tried tomato but it torched my stomach.  Good luck to you!

Did your doctor give you a eating plan?

I was not allowed cream based soups unti week 2, only 'clear liquids' and jello those first two weeks.

Really though, it shouldn't matter what all we say, you should stick to what your surgeon instructed.

Hope you are healing well :)

The first week I had to stay on broth, sugar free jello, protein shakes and surgar free popcicles per my surgeon.  I just started week two and am allowed to have cream soups.

Try this - go buy some Ramen noodles, throw away the noodles and just use the flavor packet.
I really like Cream of Chicken, Shrimp and the Spicey. It's uber cheap too.

My favorites was cream of potatoe ( needed to put in the blender before heating)  I added mccormick garlic and onion powder a some pepper.  I also mixed in my protein powder.  I also liked tomato or tomato bisque  wth basil and oregano added.  I put protein powder in that too.  I was looking for things that were savory because I can't believe I'm saying this, but I was sick of sweet things.
