Medications that come in plastic capsules?

Can we take these -

My PPI comes in a capsule but I usually open it up and swallow the little pills inside.

I have an antibiotic that came in a capsule and it doesnt look easy enough to open and take what's inside - I'm a little scared to swallow the capsule though. It was from my dentist and they clearly couldn't tell me the answer to this - the pharamacist was equally as useless.

I never open capsules... I take the pills out of the RX bottle unless otherwise instructed.

I was instructed to open my PPI - my surgeon said it would be bad to put a plastic-like capsule (it's probably not plastic...lol) in my stomach immediately post op. I've just been doing that for 6 weeks. I'd assume my stomach is healed enough to handle the digestion of the capsule.

I've been swallowing pills just fine since my own surgery. Were you instructed not to swallow capsules?

My PPI right after surgery. He never said how long to do that. Ive been taking all my other regular pills, just not the capsule.

I never opened a pill before I had surgery, but now the thought of swallowing it creeps me out...I'm really weird!

I guess I'll just take it and see what happens - probably nothing.

I've been allowed to swallow pills and gelatin capsules since day 1 as well. I don't have any problem with them. I always moisten the capsule entirely in my mouth before attempting to swallow it so it doesn't get stuck in my throat.

I've been swallowing my meds whole since about 2 weeks out. I was scared to death at first. I thought for sure the staple line would be torn open. Never happened. I think you'll be just fine by now.

I was instructed to break them open for the first couple weeks or so right after surgery, but it was so nasty that I only did it 1 or 2 times, and I have been taking them whole ever since.. No problems : )

Between a few prescriptions for blood pressure and diabetes, that I may not even need anymore, the PPI, and a few other vitamins and supplements I was taking even before surgery, and excluding the multivitamin, which I chew, and B12, which dissolves, I take a handful of eight pills every morning.  Four of them are big - bigger than most capsules.  Since about four weeks out I have been taking them all eight at once with a sip of water.  I can tell when they hit the sleeve, but it's not painful.  Feels about the same as eating a few bites of chicken or beef.  I wouldn't want to do it right before or after eating, but I've had no problems whatsoever.  I also take three huge calcium citrate pills during the day.  It's a bigger problem to get them down my throat than anything having to do with the sleeve.
