Protein Shakes

I am one week out from surgery.  I am super excited about my progress already and the way I feel.  I am just really concerned about protein shakes.  I don't want one with high carbs but I want to get my protein in effeciently.  Right now I am drinking 2 Atkins protein shakes(only 15 grams in each and they take me about 2 hours to finish-I sip on them at work) and I try to drink a whey protein shake in the evening for dinner.  The whey protein powder I have is GROSS but has about 25 grams of protein in it.  Any tips on a better product?

Also, I have ZERO appetite.  Is that normal?  I literally sit with my coworker while she eats gorgeous salads for lunch(I'm a salad lover lol) while sipping on my shake but have no desire to even take a bite.  I guess it's good and it could just be because I am one week out.  I see my doctor in the morning and will def ask him about it.

Thanks in advance for any advice!:)

EAS low carb protien shakes are great. Well I think so.
Try Nectar they will send you a sample pack for like $13. Tons of flavors.

love the Pure Protein ready to drink shakes that are 35gm of protein. All chocolate tastes gross to me so I cant base on that but the Strawberry and Vanilla taste just like Atkins to me. They have 1 or 2 gm of carbs each. Word to the wise though...dont shake it like you shake Atkins. I did that and it exploded everywhere when I opened. Shake softly.

At one week out I had zero appetite and was still on clear liquid Isopure  YUCK!  Broth and jello were my good friends too.

My favorites now are the Premier Protein shakes from Cost****hocolate is all they carry) and the EAS vanilla.  Premier has 30 grams of protein and the larger EAS have 42 grams of protein.  I can't stand anything with powder!

Being one week out, I was more concerend with hydration than protein but as I felt better I upped my protein and can now get everything in pretty well.

You'll get there, take your time to heal...sorry you are back to work so soon after surgery!

Thanks for all the advice!  I will probably grab a few of each to give them a try.
