Interesting blog

Last two days have been some interesting posts on Yoni Freedhoff's blog concerning bariatric surgery... very heated.... plain to see that ignorance to obesity is alive and well  http://www.weightymatters.ca/2011/07/medicine-isnt-about-bla me-its-about.html

Very interesting. I just subscribed to that blog. It makes me sad that obesity it still an acceptable form of open discrimination/hostility.

I skimmed through the blog.  It shows that anyone can start a blog, post whatever they want (without scientific research to back them up).  Give their own opinions, ideas and convictions and unfortunately there may be individuals that believe everything they read.  When I do research, I ensure myself that the articles are peer reviewed, from an authoritative website or journal.  If we get into the habbit of doing this we will avoid a personal opinion.  It is good to know that blogs like this exist so that we can warn others about it.
