In the class I took earlier this week it was recommended to document any irritations you have from the loose skin as early as possible and keep records. This will help when it comes time to submit to insurance for plastics. The nurse said that they seem more likely to approve tummy and thighs, but are less likely to approve surgery for arms (aka bat wings).

I haven't checked into plastics yet because I'm only 4 months out but when I'm done losing, I plan to. I live in the Dallas area. Has anyone heard of Parkland or Baylor Hospital removing the skin for no charge if you donate it to the burn units? Someone told me about this but I have not checked into it.

Yes.. just one,
Don't become obese in the 1st place. Unfortunately the skin damage and loose skin is a right of passage that comes along with WLS &/or significant weight loss. Your choices are tight fat skin in while laying in your coffin or some loose skin and greatly improved and prolonged life.
Sorry... Craig
