c25K - Week 5 spam
This week was the biggest jump in difficulty and I killed it lol. Just got done with day 3.
Day 1
5:00 warm-up
5:00 run
3:00 walk
5:00 run
3:00 walk
5:00 run
5:00 cool down
This day wasn't too bad, last interval was obviously rough but i wasn't completely on E.
Day 2
5:00 warmup
8:00 run
5:00 walk
8:00 run
5:00 cooldown
First time running over 5 minutes, second one was tough, didn't have a lot left in the tank but breathing and heart rate were both pretty high.
Day 3 - CRAZY
5:00 warmup
20:00 run
5:00 cooldown
When I saw this I wondered "WTF happened to a 10, 12, or 15 minute interval? THIS IS SOME BULL****!!!". But I decided that since I did alright the last time out I was basically replacing 5 minutes of walk time with 4 minutes of run. Kept my pace steady at 5.5MPH and completed, totaled 2.5 miles, was tempted to run until I hit 3.1 miles....but my body told me to stop lol.
Thanks again for reading. Next week the difficulty actually steps down the first two days and then Friday is a 25:00 run. I'm also going to kick up the speed a little bit early in the week and see if I can handle 5.8MPH or so for a full 25 minutes. Again, this gets a little easier every time I try it, and that's with still smoking a pack of cigs a day (STUPID, I know...but hey...it's what it is). If I can do it anyone can...and it actually felt pretty good to wrap up the week on a 20:00 run.

Thank you. I'm amazed at how much my big man mindset still has me convinced I can't do stuff. That's how I know most of this is mental, I'm not discounting the physical side of it either, I don't think I did anything in the way of exercise until I was around 230 (6 months out).
Once I get my money together I am going to do two things I was always too big to do:
Bungee Jump
Skydive (even if it's just a single tandem jump)
In addition to running this 5K in October. I still have a long way to go to do that on real terrain instead of in an air conditioned gym on a treadmill...but 20 minutes of solid running was something I never thought I'd see.
