A little help with measuring

I decided to finally go in the kitchen and cook a little so I can freeze some food for my lunches.

As soon as I slaved away and was ready to weigh all my meat, MY SCALE IS DEAD. It has a weird battery that I have to go out and get a battery for.

So, if I want to measure 2 oz of meat, does anyone know approx how much that might be? 1/4 cup? 1/2? I have no idea.

Liquid, 8oz is one cup... I think 1/4 cup is probably close to 2 oz... not exact, but close enough, I'd call it good.

Just saw my NUT today. Just so happened she mentioned 3 TBSP is 1 ounce. About. More or less. Give or take. Now, how you measure a tablespoon of meat is another question.

Here is a website that gives some visuals http://www.webmd.com/diet/healthtool-portion-size-plate  A 3 oz. portion of meat is equivelent to the size of a checkbook, this is for fish.  3 oz. of meat is the size of a deck of cards.  So for 2 ounces just do a little more then half.  Hope this helps.

2oz is a 1/4cup and 4oz is 1/2 of cup. glad makes these real small bowls that are 4oz or 1/2 cup. they are great for preparing meals in. i eat out of those all the time.
