Again, I am in need of advice.  VSG was 5/31 and I have lost about 28 pounds so far.  My doc said they look at % not pounds and since I was 100 pounds overweight, I have lost 28% of my excess body weight.  They said they expect patients to hit the 30% mark around 3 months out, so I know I am ahead of the curve.  However, I get discouraged because I lost 16 pounds the 1st 2 weeks, then it went down to 8, and then 3 pounds.  3 pounds in 2 weeks can be done on weigh****chers and I feel like I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what.  I log my food on calorie count.  Even when I don't want to admit something I have eaten.  I have started weighing my food, to make sure I am not underestimating.  I am staying within the calorie, protein, fats, carbs, and sugar range.  I am working out at least 5 times per week.  On paper it looks like I am doing everything right, but something is amiss.  I made an appointment with my dietician and maybe she can shed some light.  Any thoughts would be WELL received...

Well I don't have advice for you, just encouragement. You are doing great. I would love to trade places with you concerning the progress you have made so far. You are on the side of weight loss I want to be on. I have not had my surgery yet so I have gains and not losses like you. 28% is wonderful. Just keep up the good work and be patient with the process. It probably took a little longer than 3 months to put the weight on, right? lol

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!  You're already up and that active?

Your body's just freaking out, my loss was similar at first, big chunk, little bit, stabilize, big chunk, little bit, stabilize.  It's a process, your body's trying to adapt, but if you keep it up it will NOT lol.  Every week will not be the same, whether you have a big loss, small loss, no loss, or even a small gain keep focused on the big picture....the scale is important but only a part of your overall health.

I say don't worry, do your thing, and pay attention to your measurements too, not just lbs.  Eat what you should, keep getting in your recommended amounts of protein and water, and the pounds and inches will continue to melt away.

You're doing great.  Just try to relax. Stalls are normal.  Slow loss is normal.  You should also remember that you were a lightweight to begin with...this will play into things as well.  And, considering that, as a lightweight, you lost more than I (much heavier than yourself) did in the first 1.5 months...you're doing A-OK.  It'll happen for you...just be patient and be sure your hitting your goals!

Don't worry...your body is taking time to adjust.  It will kick back into losing mode soon.  Sounds like you are doing everything right.  You might just want to mix up your diet and exercise routine a little.

I spent an agonizing 10 weeks in the 150's bracket...just couldn't lose.  I ended up going on vacation, gained 4 lbs. came home and lost like 13 lbs in 2 weeks, finally getting out of the 150's.  The rest just fell off quickly after that and I was at goal of 140 in no time.  Since then, I've lost more and am 135-136 now.

You'll get there!  While waiting, focus on your measurements/sizes.  You're probably shrinking.  I still am even though my weight has stabilized.
