I am getting ready to start my one month preop liquid diet.  My metabolic specialist recommended bariatric advantage meal replacement 5 shakes per day.  Did anyone else do this?  Any shake flavor suggestions?  How much weight did you loose?  My doc wants me to loose 12-30 pounds preop.

I had to use Unjury, which I found to be rather revolting... others find it tasty. To each his own. I hope that your Bariatric Advantage is good. But, even the best stuff is going to get old after a month. I had to do only a week, although it seemed like a month :P. I didn't have a set amount to lose, I was simply told not to be more than 5 pounds over my consult weight. When I presented myself on the surgery date, I was exactly at the limit: 263. Almost 7 months out, I am 109 pounds down.

Best of luck! I will say that the pre-op was the hardest part of the whole journey. The recovery from the surgery was a walk in the park!

Try the EAS protein drinks. They are pre-made and come in chocolate and vanilla. A case cost around $28 from Sam's.

+1 for EAS Lite drinks.  Or maybe the carb control version since you're pre-op...

I bought two bags of BA Meal Replacement, pre-op I didn't mind it, blend it with protein fortified milk and one or two spenda packets and ice and I liked it.

Immediately post op it made me sick to my stomach to even smell it.

I'm hurting for dinero right now, don't really wanna go drop another 30.00 for some more EAS drinks, found my bag of vanilla powder, followed recipe above with no Splenda and it was pretty good.

I like vanilla and chocolate primarily, hate strawberry anything.  Honestly if you can find a lot of sample sized packs to buy that's your best bet.  I spent a lotta money finding vitamins and supplements that worked for me.

I like Trader Joe's Designer Whey. It has 54 grams protein and with two cups skim milk tastes just life chocolate milk.

I use the Bariatric Advantage meal replacement shakes and I love them. I have talked to many people who don't like them. I guess its just everyones taste buds are different. I make mine with 1% milk and use a blender bottle they come out a little thick which is why I like them. The site has single serve shakes so you might want to try each flavor first to see what you like. My doctors office sells them also thats how I tried each flavor. I am not a fan of the strawberry but I don't seam to like any brand protein shakes in strawberry. I am using the shakes because my Dr. would like me to lose some weight before the surgery. I have lost 25 pounds so far and have been using the shakes to replace two meals a day and I usually have a lean cuisine for the other meal. I have been on this diet plan about 2 months. I will admit I don't always stick to it but the days I don't I still try to make good food decisions. I haven't had any fast food during these 2 months. Fast food is my down fall, my worst enemy. I think you should ask your Dr. if he wants you to make the shakes with water or milk. 5 shakes a day with milk makes your calories and carbs a little high. Does he want you to use 1 scoop or two. My Dr.s plan is 2 scoops with 8oz of liquid pre surgery, and 1 scoop with 8 oz of liquid after surgery. OK so I have talked alot more then I expected too, So I will end by saying to change the flavor up a bit I add a teaspoon or less of sugar free jello mix to the vanilla shakes. I like sugar free lime or lemon the *******so add sugar free Da Vinci syrups to the vanilla shakes, it doesn't add calories either. Black Cherry and watermelon are my favorite. I know I said alot but I hope it helps.
