4 weeks post op update

I can't believe I made it! A couple weeks ago, I never thought I'd get here. Time has gone really slow for me over the last month.

But, I'm down 20 lbs since surgery, 105 total.  I still see myself as my old 420lb self though. When I look in the mirror, I don't see anything different.

I'm starting to get my energy back, but because of sleep issues, I think it might take a while. I've definitely gotten a lot stronger physically because I've been able to walk on the treadmill for 30-40 min at a time.

I am able to drink A LOT - I easily get 80-100 oz of fluid a day. I definitely drink a lot more than pre-op.

I feel like I can eat a lot - relatively speaking. I generally eat about 600-700 cal/day.  I eat about 1/2 cup soft food and about 2 oz of meat (i've tried chicken, ground beef, and tuna).

For those that have just had surgery, it does get better. I was MISERABLE for the first 3 weeks. The last week has been getting better. Not to say I don't still have regret and buyer's remorse, but I'm hoping by the next month, I'll be back to "normal" again and feel human.

Hi

Congratulations with your 20 pounds!  That is Awesome!!!

The first month is hard because we try and figure out our eating.  It will get better. Stick to plan
because soon you will be able to eat anything.

Funny because we can train our sleeves to do anything from eating small, to eating large.
We can train our sleeve to drink or not to drink, take vitamins by the 2`s or only take a half.

What ever we work at,  we can do.  or at least this has been my experience.

You're doing great. Every week you'll feel more human.

If you haven't already done so by then, I'll bet you ditch all your buyer's remorse the day you cross under 300 lbs. Look how close you are!!

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
