How much time do you have, before you won't lose any more weight?
I am so glad you continue to post now and again, OldMedic. Your posts are right on and don't beat around the bush. The way you present the facts takes the emotional aspect out of the equation, and my own freak-out aspect often causes me to make bad decisions. Thank you so much for your clear and informed post. It is extremely helpful! Best wishes on your continuing journey!

Highest weight: 292 Pre-op weight: 265 Goal met: 150 Six years out: 185 and trying to lose again!
Thanks so much for the reminders!
I have had people tell me "oh you have to lose all that weight in 6 months or what you lose in 6 months is it" Why? does my sleeve have an expiration date on it? I think not.
I too had a slow down... took me 7 weeks to lose 10 lbs. Mine too was due to the carb issue - from all the great summer time fruits and veges. I cut back on those and started again on the path to losing. My advice - listen to your body.
The biggest reminder is that the surgery is a tool, it's not magic. There is no magic door you walk through after surgery and become a size 4. (although I have co workers who apparently thought that would happen)
You get out of it what you put into it. Just like many other things in life. So keep working it!

Hey OM, good to see you on the forum. As one closing in on his goal - still 20+ to go, but over 150+ lost, I read your post with interest. I doubt I'll have any "trouble" making my goal weight in a reasonable time - in fact, my goal will be adjusted once I get there. I've known all along that the more effort I put into the program, the faster I can lose weight - I've lost a lot in a short time, but I've worked very hard at it - both nutrition-wise and exercise-wise. Now that I'm smaller, I DO need more exercise to continuing losing - and it's easier to eat more cals than I need, so I continue to closely monitor all input. As you point out, the amount of work you do results in the amount of weight you lose.
again, good to see you on the board.
