Hi Everyone,

Is that normal.   I think I drink and eat not enough.  I am always sick to my stomach, I eat I feel better for a bit and then it hurts again.  It feels empty.   I am one month out, still kinda on clear/full/mushie stage because the Dr pushed me back a little.   I am trying a little on the soft food because I think I'm not full on what I am trying.   Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

My doctor put me on Nexium for 3 months after surgery. Was that your protocol? If not, you might think about discussing it with your doctor.

My first month I was sick most of the time. I kept thinking I wasn't eating enough, but learned that was just my mind programmed to think I needed more. Instead, it was just my stomach trying to figure out a new way of eating and digesting. It takes some time. I only ate about 300 calories a day at one month out and my body adjusted to that just fine. I definitely wouldn't ru**** on solid foods - you will find that certain solid foods will really upset your stomach. Right now at a month out it is just a day-by-day experience. Try new things and see what works and what doesn't. This will also change over time, so keep trying different things. Also, this first six months is your best chance for sustained weight loss so utlize every tool at your disposal. I was not on solid foods until after six weeks and no vegetables until after 2 months. I lost a ton of weight in my first 3 months by following my plan to the letter.

Don't worry - you will start to feel better soon and then each week you will see improvement until you get to a new normal.

i had to increase my nexium to twice daily and then got some relief!  i had some nausea also.  and experienced all kinds of blood sugar fluctuations for the first couple weeks to a month.  the added nexium helped, and concentrating on getting my protein in helped even more.  for a while i was 'hungry' every hour and half to two hours.  that leveled off within the first 2-3 months and now i eat almost like 'normal' meal times/number of times per day.

good luck.
