I'm surrounded by junk food!!

Or just a ton of carbs.

Someone brought in food for the office - boxes of bagles and cream cheese, and all sorts of cookies, cakes, breads, and pastries.

I feel a little sad I'm not eating them - it's kind of a first to walk by them completely and not take a pinch of something.

But seriously, why are the people in my office soooo freaking weird? Everyone here is pretty much super thin, claims to all be exercise addicts and health freaks. If that were true, how does all this crap make it into the office on a regular basis??? SOMEONE had to bring it (and no one ever claims it - totally weird but whatever).

Now, Im just sitting at my desk dreaming about what flavor to make my pureed chicken tonight for dinner.

I use to hate that! Just remember you are going to be the only healthy one in the office. We have a short term goal now right?!!!! You can do it!!!

My theory on those people is that they stay thin BECAUSE they bring those things into work instead of leaving them at home to tempt them.  I work with someone who loves to cook & bake but has worked hard to be thin... she eats a small slice or bite and brings the rest to work.  The vultures (which used to include me) eat it all up!

When I return to work, I vow to no longer be a vulture.  In fact, I might convert more to her behavior because I like to cook.

I have to deal with all the snacks from trader joes my wife has around the house plus i will be in the same boat when i go back to work. hang in there and just think of the healthier you down the road.

I know you're not there yet, but there will be a day when you might choose to have a slice of ham with some cream cheese while they are eating bagels. Or maybe a piece of toast with sf jelly. This all gets easier as you go along. Embrace the new you and the new recipes you can create that are WLS friendly! Go to theworldaccordingtoeggface.com and make something for the whole office that is healthy... They'll never realize they're eating GOOD things! Hang in there!

I'm rarely tempted by my office treats. It helps that they are never located near my office; however, they are near the water. I don't ge****er at the cooler often because I have a 1-gallon jug that I usually fill up and leave in my office. The main reason I am not tempted is because there are some nasty people in my office, and those are the same people that touch stuff and don't pick it up. You know that nasty little kid at the buffet touching all of the food while his parents sit at the table acting like they don't notice?... well 40 years ago, that was a few of my co-workers.

Look on the bright side. Isn't it great that you don't feel that you have to have it?

There used to be a 100 pound lady in my office who always brought me food to avoid overindulging. -fried chicken, cookies, etc. "I know you are trying to be good, but I just can't eat all of this chicken."  It was only 2 strips left, but it made me crave chicken so bad that I went and bought a 10 piece bucket. I finally realized what she was doing and started throwing the food away.  I don't miss those days.

 That's why I am so glad I am away from the Teacher's Lounge for the next few months.  There is always a table of CRAP in there and staring at it with my pre-op diet was torture enough.

I have a couple of friends this same way, SOOOOO, I looked closely AND,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they buy and cook and bring this stuff, but NEVER eat ANY. Maybe they live vicariously,,,,,,,,,,,,,,


Keep the faith and continue to be strong. Pretty soon we'll be the ones not even blinking an eye at those things and our friends will be sayin' "I dont know how she does it!!!"    LOL

Insanity is doing the same things over and over, but expecting different results.
