I've been searching for ideas for that as I'm just entering the mushy stage.  Found a lot of great ideas on Shelly's blog.  Search:  the world according to eggface (don't have the link, sorry.) and she has some great tips on dining out!

My first meal was a 2oz turkey burger with mustard, wrapped in a lettuce leaf.  It was awesome!!!

My first soft mean was blackened talapia. It was awesome. Tried a meatball next - it was NOT awesome.

My MIL will be in town tomorrow and my husband is going to take me out. I am thinking of getting a crabcake at Olive Garden. I think if I eat the inside of it, I will be ok. I am looking forward to that!

When do you get to go on to "normal foods"? I have to wait until about the 13th of July.

It's an hour's drive from my hospital to home so, on the way home and right after I got clearance to eat anything, we stopped at a Boston Market.  I had about 3 bites of dark meat chicken, a couple bites of mashed potatoes and a couple bites of sweet potato casserole.  It wasn't the most ideal meal but I needed to eat...so, it worked.  And, it was yummy!
