I'm one week today. My stomach abs freaking hurt. I'm a whiner. I'll get over it. I blogged here about it. Whatever.

BUT! I was sitting here and realized I was gulping my water. It doesn't hurt! WooHoo! I drink a serious amount of fluids usually and I wasn't having a problem getting in 60-80 oz per day after surgery, but it feel so nice to grab my water and take a few big swigs. Ahhh...

Hey, I'm still in pain. I take whatever good I can get, dagnabit!

I hear you...I think I heard angels and harps  when I was able suck a good drink down.  I was sooo thirsty before and now I feel just right!

My abs don't hurt so much, but the incisions (inner stitches) are being a little gnarly.  Oh well, just gentle reminders that we still have to watch our P's and Q's.

Congratulations on your progress SG!!

I'm assuming it muscle pain... it only hurts when I get up and down from bed or a chair or otherwise use those muscles.  It's kind of under the incision, the biggest one. I'm guessing that's where he took the stomach out and he had to kind of mess with that area or either that muscle got cut. I dunno, but sheesh!

LOL, angels and harps... yup, that about sums it up!

That scares me that I was able to drink tons of water still, I am a water drinker (like 70-90oz) a day. I just drink tons of water...I was worried that it would expand my new tummy...I have yet to ask my DR. but I am also wondering why I am still able to get that much down. I also drink fast too

I'm happy for it, it was one of my fears going in because I do drink a LOT of water during the day. My understanding is that fluids don't stay in your stomach, they pass right through so I don't worry about stretching. It could also be that those that cannot may have a narrower opening or more swelling, etc.

I had a lot of pain under my largest incision - a lot! I had my VSG on 5/16 and still have a little pain. I think mine has lingered because I haven't been good about not lifting heavy things.
Congratulations on your water. I'm jealous. I have to still sip and am so thirsty.

Lalalala... if this is still going on at a month out, someone may have to put me in a rubber room! Sorry you're still dealing with it :(

Yes, I feel very lucky and happy this morning... I'm drinking just right along and not having to remind myself every few minutes to drink. LOL

Ooops, I keep a run down on my profile, but I lost 20 pounds pre op, so that's 8 lbs in one week. Nothing to sneeze at for sure though :) I'll take it!

I updated my signature to hopefully clarify it a bit.

VSG on 06/21/11 with
Hey VSG Twin!!

Glad you're doing well too! I still can't gulp, but am able to start taking bigger sips. I am still having some tummy pains, but feels like muscle soreness too.

I haven't been good at getting in my fluids. So yesterday (since I'm home doin nuthin), I'm using my trusty ole Pampered Chef kitchen timer, setting it for 15 minutes, and drink 2 oz each time (using my Pampered Chef measuring cup! LOL). I also use it for 30 min prep for food (jello or pudding mostly), then the 30 min after, then back to 15 min intervals. Yesterday I was able to get a little over 40 ounces in. Hopefully today will be more!

And yes, I'm measuring all my food out (on my Pampered Chef food scale of course!) at about 2-3 ounces.

Can you tell I love PC??? LOL   I sold years ago, but still have almost all of their products. Maybe when I'm thinner and in better shape, I can sell again.

Anywho, sorry to get OT....enjoy your day!!
