NSV--Heat & a empty closet
So our A/C went out last Thursday. In the 90s in my house with all the doors, windows, fans open/on. Right now we have a new one being installed---which has emptied our emergency savings--ugh. Which means sadly, I can't afford to buy any clothes. However, I couldn't take another moment in this hot house, so I took a trip to the mall. I started trying on clothes. I fit into size 16 shorts and xl dresses!!!! My closet at home is empty because I gave almost everything away to a co-worker this weekend--all of my size 20 clothes (3 heavy black yard bags of clothing) except for 3 pair of shorts, a pair of capri pants, 3 dresses and about 8 shirts. Can I tell you how hard it was not to spend money on clothes. Okay, I'll be honest, I left the mall and went to Ross and bought a similar version of one of the dresses that I tried on at JcPenny that was $50 and got at Ross's for $12. It was a size 14 or XL, how could I not?????
Trying on the clothes was very rewarding, for I was mourning the loss of my clothes. This was my 3rd time giving away clothes since my surgery. First it was the size 24 and other clothes in which I never wore that went, then I plurged my closet of all the 22 and all 20s that I didn't like. Which lead to this last purge of everything I loved and wore all the time and all size 20s. I have nothing smaller. Which made me think about what size I actually would wear and I am so pleased with my trip to the mall that it healed the wound I created giving away my favorite clothes--even if I could not afford to buy that size.

sorry about the airconditioner, that is a bummer.
But congrats on the clothes! I too went shopping recently, and it felt so good to be able to try on clothes in the normal sections. I bought a couple size 14s too! I am not ready to say I am a size 14 though, more of a 16....but, a few months ago, the size 14 wouldn't zip so that is progress in the right direction!

Being a south Floridian, I totally feel your pain about your A/C. That sucks! However, that's totally AWESOME about the clothes/shoppping/new smaller size development! That's awesome! I actually can't wait to have my surgery and start giving away my clothes one or two sizes at a time! Lord, please let that day come soon!
