Wahoo! VSG Approved and Surgery Date Scheduled!

Yay!  BCBS-TRS (Teacher Retirement System) approved my surgery with one request.  I am so excited!  July 5th will be here before I know it.  Thank you, in advance, to all of the great posters in the Forum.  I have already learned so much from all of you.

Way to go... Time will fly by.... What did you have to do to get approval?

Thanks Lovely Ladies!  It has been an adventure... mostly good.  Started this journey in April 2010, met the right doctor for me (insurance approved and hospital approved) in October 2010.  Dr. Ganta has been fabulous.  It's taken some time but I am teacher and need to have the surgery during the summer anyway.   

For insurance approval: I had to complete a six month high protein, low fat/carb diet, 1500 calories a day.  Had to complete a Psych eval., sleep study, blood work, and all pre-op testing (EKG, CT Scan, breathing test, etc.). 

I also had to do some things for my doctor:  Meet with Nutritionist 3X over a couple of months, and Exercise Person 3X over a couple of months.  I also had to attend a support group to hear what others are going through.
