I woke up this morning at my dad's house.. we had scheduled to have someone come to the house today to euthanize our 17 year old family dog..I adopted him from the shelter on my 12th birthday..My first dog.

I ran to the store and on the way came across a rabbit with 2 broken back legs trying to drag itself out of the street. I scooped the lil guy up and drove 45 minutes to the nearest ER vet hospital (I'm out in bumblef*ck Pennsylvania FYI) so he could be humanely euthanized...

I got home from the hospital and we sent our beloved Buddy to the rainbow bridge..

Sad day :*(  Rough month, rough year!

Thanks for listening as always

Aw! It may hurt, but you did two good things today. I know you are a pet bereavement person, so you know this already.. ((Hugs))

I'm so sorry Sassy. I know how difficult it can be to lose a pet. And, what you did for that poor rabbit shows just what a caring person you are. Buddy will be there waiting for you some day!! Hugs to you...

So sorry to hear about your dog. I have dogs as well and they are like my children! Big hugs...take one day at a time. I had to put one of my boys to sleep last June and I still feel sad but I know most importantly that I gave him a life full of fun and love!! Buddy was lucky to have you as his family :)
Keep your chin up!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost 2 of my dogs last year. I worked in a veterinary e-clinic for many years, and no matter how much you assist people with their grief, it never gets easier, ever. *hugs* and thank you for helping that poor bun.

Hi Sassy...so sorry for your loss, but know Buddy will be waiting on the other side for you, but you also might sense him around the house for awhile (that happened to me with a couple of our past dogs...like they just had to show me they were fine).  The poor bunny is better for your caring as well...a new month begins soon...has got to improve!  Viv

So sorry.  A treasured pet is a member of the family.  He had so many wonderful years with you.

Your sweet baby did his job, he was there to make you happy and bring joy to your life.  We should rejoice in a job well done and enjoy our memories.  We too have had to do this all to often in the last few years.  Its a part of the cycle of life.

So sorry.  It's always tough even when you know you're making the absolute right decision. Our pets become part of who we are as people, and it's never easy to say goodbye.
