You won't fail sweetie, don't even let those thoughts enter your mind. You failed before, like we all did, because its hard if not impossible to do on our own. With the sleeve it's completly possible. The liquid diet sucks but those of us that had to do it lived through it and you will too. The thing that got me through it was knowing this was one step closer to this miracle i now have in my life. And life post op is so much easier, food just won't have the same place in your life. And i eat like a normal person and i'm quite happy with that. That constant hunger that i struggled with is gone now. I get a little hungry, i eat, and i'm fine. Really, no negative thoughts allowed. Make a list of all the changes coming your way. Only think of the positives, this really is the best thing. I was in bad shape and getting badder quick and this has really saved my life. I thank God everyday for this gift and you will too. And i'm right here sweetie, any time you need me. There are a whole lot of wonderful people all here for you anytime you need us. You'll be so happy. The first month is hard but everyone says they would do it again in a hearbeat if they had to . Thankfully we won't. : Only good thoughts. :o) jeani
HI Susan,
I know how you feel, but Jeani is SOOOO right.. Just think of all the reasons that you are doing this, and writing them down makes it so much better too..
I start my diet a week from today, not looking forward to it, but like Jeani said just remember why you are doing it, and that will help you get through it all..
I am a whirlwind of emotions too.. I have tried to keep myself busy to not DWELL on the surgery..
I know that afterwards, I will wonder why I was so scared and worried about the surgery.. I don't know if you have any support groups for the surgery close to you, but I have found the support group I go to has really helped me..
I get so many questions answered. The big help for me is just talking to people that have had my doctor and hearing how great he is..
