Well that's the other kicker. Thin people assume if you are fat - you are stupid or severely addle-brained. Because my god, you must have some learning disability if you let yourself get so big.
They say obesity has reached epidemic proportions. Until society and health companies recognize that most people do not chose to be obese and that obesity is a disease. Like drug addition, alcoholism or in some families it is a hereditary thing like diabetes.
Until such time as that is acknowledged, those of us on the fat side of the line will continue to have to realize that though we were lucky enough to have surgery to help us with our battle. The idiots talking to us can't have surgery to fix being stupid.
And as to stupid, insensitive comments. My worst was an uncle who at my wedding reception, and in front of my friends, asked if he could borrow my wedding dress the next week, because the boy scouts were camping out and needed an extra tent.
