How destructive! You have done great...don't get discouraged by the nurses crappy attitude.
I would address this issue with the clinic manager and demand an apology. Most people that have not had a weight issue, just cannot understand our plight or emotions that are tied to the weight loss process. How one negative or discouraging word can send you spiraling in the wrong direction-making us give up once again. At some point we have to demand better treatment from those we pay to treat us...do not accept less...YOU ARE WORTH IT...WE ARE WORTH IT.

If you look at peoples losses that are close to your post op time...myself...Ann...CC.. and a few others, you'll see we're all almost identically the same in weight loss.
I think nurses get a pre-concieved notion of what we're supposed to weigh compared to RnY's. I've heard they lose pretty fast initially. I could be wrong.
The VSG is a whole new ball game. I don't think they've done enough research to really figure it all out yet.
You are doing fantastic. You just keep doing you and take joy in the knowledge you will eventually prove her wrong!

I agree with everyone, she's way out of line, and I would speak with the program director and the surgeon, as this person should not be in this front line position, as she obviously doesn't have a clue about how to do her job! FatGuyWithaLittleCoat was dead on honest and correct! You are doing awesome, keep up the great work, and print this e-mail string out and bring it to your next appointment, as we all would love a followup to know what your Doc's thoughts are now that we all have commented and would not recommend him because of her!
What a bunch of crap. Your Baratric Nurse needs to have there butt kicked. I'm at 50lbs down in 3 months and feel like i should have lost more but currently stalled, but reality has set in by looking at the overall picture. I did look at my measurements and feel satisified and I hear no mention of that with you. I truly feel for myself that i needed a weight loss "break" in order to gain a little strength and some of my equalibrium back for walking, etc...
I say so long as your blood work is good and you feel like you are doing the right thing, p++s on it and keep on rocking the sleeve!!!! Keep your chin up as I do everytime I go to the closet and look for smaller clothes that I bought 10 years ago and said some day i'll fit in them again!! In a couple more weeks i'll finally feel the need to hit the clothes stores and so will you!!
Remind your nurse you are paying them for support and not degradation.

Sounds like your nurse was having a terrible day and inappropriately shared it with you. Sorry it happened, but please don't let her ruin any more of your day. 44 lbs in 3 months is a strong weight loss, and it sounds like you are putting (heavy) muscle on too, not just shedding the fat.
Maybe she should have taken a tape measure to you to verify THOSE changes as well!!
Keep on keeping on, and don't let other people, even "experts" change what you know are good choices and healthy, hard work.
Congrats on doing so well!

That has got to be the worst think I've ever heard a nurse has said to someone...ya know what she shouldn't be working with bariatric patients and you should talk to your doctor about that nasty, smelly person.....that would've put me in to a tail spin of depression a year ago...but I'm a much stronger person now...and I hope you are too!!! You are doing a fantastic job keep up the good work and don't let people like her discourage you. Look at it this way your a LOSER!!!! lol better than gaining 44 pounds right??? keep working that sleeve sista.....oh and I bet she is just jealous because she doesn't have the courage to do it.....
