3 month follow up was a BUST!!!
so i had my 3 month follow up with my surgeon on yesterday, so i went through all the normal routine stuff including weigh in and thats when i learned I have lost a total of 44 pounds since being sleeved in my mind 44lbs in 3months is good well not according to the bariactric nurse she made me feel like CRAP!!! she told me that I should have lost more weight than i have so far and she instantly started grilling me on what i eat, how much I eat, how much protein, how many calories do i take in, but she had not realize she lost me at you should have lost more weight by now so even now i feel like taking even more drastic measures b/c i am doing all I can now i even pay for a personal trainer and walk in my neighborhood, so now I am feeling more and more the gastric bypass in my future b/c the weight just will not come off!!! Sorry for rambling but that dr appt really did a lot to me
44 lbs in 3 months is WONDERFUL. do NOT let the mean nurse discourage you. You know that you are following your plan and exercising like you should...so what if she doesn't think so. 44 lbs in 90 days is almost a full half a lb a day and that is amazing. The bypass would have given you the same results you have with the sleeve (from what I hear anyways)...the first 3 months, my average was 9lbs a month...you have lost OVER 10 lbs a month-be happy and keep doing what you're doing because it's working!!
DO NOT let that nurse rain on your parade!!!! 44 pounds in 3 months is GREAT! That's 14.67 pounds per month, translated to approx. a half a pound per day!!!! (can you tell I'm an accountant?). Since when have you lost a 1/2 pound per day consistently for 3 months. As far as I'm concerned I would tell her to stick THAT in her pipe and smoke it...You are doing great hon and don't let anybody tell you different! Keep up the good work!

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!
There are two words you should've told her: "Fuck" & "Off". No one deserves to be chided when they're sticking with the program, much less following a stricter version. Don't count yourself out... you're very early on in this journey. Keep taking baby steps & taking things one day at a time.
Current weight: 170 lbs.
Once I reach goal, this cow will be killed & eaten... 2 ounces at a time.
Total includes 56 lbs. lost on 2-month low carb pre-op diet. Start date 9/13/10.

And to the original poster
you are AWESOME!! I am a nurse and it really ****** me off when I hear that nurses say and do these type of things to patients. On behalf of nurses, I'm sorry. But that nurse can go "f" herself....truly.
Listen to all the other posters, 44 pounds is great! You have had awesome success. Just keep going and maybe tell your office you don't want that nurse involved in your care anymore. That is perfectly within your right!

Thats rediculous! 44 pounds is great!!! Your doing a wonderful job. Dont let her put you down.. shouldnt she know that everyone loses differently? There shouldnt be an "Exact" number that you should have lost, everyones body is different. Bottom line if your doing what your suppose to do the weight is bound to come off no matter how much you have lost in the first 3 months. No matter what losing 44 pounds of fat is just amazing. Keep it up, and dont let her bring you down :)
