miracle noodle
I tried them and they are OK, better in soups and fish dishes in my opinion. Here is my real problem with them, they fill me up without putting any protein into me. I get all my protein from my meals so I can't afford to just eat without nutritional value, as it is I eat so very little. This would make a lot more sense to me before surgery, now I need my little stomach available for real nutrition, and if I am still hungry, I would rather get some veggies in.
Your right Elina......that's why we need the vet VSGer's chiming in with helpful reminders as you do. It did say that it swells up so a fork full would probably be all it would take to fill the sleeve.
I know I am still only 4 weeks out but I am still having a problem getting in the liquid and protein requirements. Maybe months further out when I have a better handle on this once in a blue moon would not be a problem for a change of pace.

I would second what Elena said - I really like these in Asian-style salads and stir-fries, but find them very filling. The good side of that is that they are no-calorie, so no harm done. The downside is that they offer only slight benefit - in that they are high fibre. So, I use them sparingly so that I am able to get in all of my protein and a bit of veg - plus some slurpy noodley goodness!
With all of the food I eat, I try to evaluate first - is it harmful to me? and then is it beneficial?, and to come up with a balance of stuff that I like that offers the highest ratio of benefit. For me that is lots of protein and minimum carb, with very little that is processed. But, everyone is different and it takes some time to figure out what works best for each of us!

They sell them at a health food store here in town. I didnt really like them. They were ok when I made them in a stir fry on a different diet, but then I tried a recipe for Alfredo from the hungry girl site and the texture was terrible in that. I would recommend finding somewhere to try them before spending that kind of money on several packages.
