Sooo excited!!!  I received a call and a letter indicating that Fed BCBS had overturned their original denial and have now APPROVED my request for surgery!

Thank you so much to Jeanie and diane S for allowing me to use their appeal letter template.  I sincerely appreciate your help and vast knowledge.  Thanks also to those who (when I was on the verge of giving up) encouraged me to stick with the process and appeal.

Next step - calling my surgeon today to set up a new "birth date"!!!

Hi,
I'm new here (first post) and am so glad I read this!  I too have Fed BCBS and have read different things about if they cover it or not.  I just had my consult yesterday and am moving forward, but am somewhat expecting a denial for VSG.  I'm glad to know if I appeal that there could be a chance.  I'm praying that before August they just decide to cover it.  I can't imagine why they are not covering it now.  I know I walked in to the first seminar thinking I wanted a LapBand and walked our convinced that I wanted VSG.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Blessings,
Kim
