I would advise protein first.  Pineapples, baked potatoes and pudding are all very healthy choices, but they have really no protein in them.  You are filling up your sleeve and therefore unable to fit in the the protein that you need the most.  Instead of those things, choose things like fish, chicken, eggs, beef, that sort of thing and then if there is space for the others later in the day after you get all your protein, then enjoy them.  Just a suggestion!

Hi there.  Premier protein shake: 30 grams of protein/2 carbs.  It's difficult getting in all your protein in the beginning so supplementing is the way to go (for most of us).  Skip the fruit and starch (potatoes/pasta/rice etc) for now.  As my NUT say....that's why you take your multivitamin.  Good luck.

I use greek yogurt ( you get more protein), cottage cheese, sliced turkey, hard boiled eggs...

You REALLY need to avoid carbs (whi*****lude fruit sugars) and fats as much as you can.

I understand the desire (I would have KILLED for a slice of my Lemon Meringue Pie), but you have to keep the goal in mind.  Don't let yourself indulge, but if you do, just forget it.  Do NOT agonize over it, don't get in the blues, just stop, and get right back on program.

Everyone cheats, at least a little.  The key is to keep those cheats to a minimum, and NOT to allow them to become frequent at all.

You can do this Steph.  If a lazy old guy like me can do it, I KNOW that you can.

Hi Steph, I use the Unjury unflavored powder to add protein. You can mix it into your yogurt or pudding and there is no taste.  I buy the single serving envelopes so I can take it with me more conveniently and I can add it to my lunch or dinner where ever I am.  Its the only way I can get the amount of protein in I'm supposed to.

I get the Unjury from the pharmacy where my surgeon is located but you can also get it online.  The Premiere I think is available at Sams Club or Costco.  Unjury also comes in flavors and I personally don't care for the chicken soup flavor but had bought some to try since so many said it was good.  But today I put that chicken soup protein powder in my egg salad and YUM! It was so good.  So I think I will be using it as seasoning in my egg and chicken dishes...LOL!

Ditto the previous poster about the non-protein items you are eating...substitute them for protein.
