Being in love is GREAT and now that we settling into the whole couple thing...we will be working out and eating "better"...

Glad you are in love too...

Hi there,

Good to hear from anybody more than two years out : ) I'm sorry for your struggles, but you're not the only long-time post-op still coming to terms with everything. I was sitting pretty at 120 but was very depressed and slowly regained to 135. I'm now 130 and have gotten back on track in the last two weeks. Whether it's a carb from refried beans, whole grain bread, or a doughnut, over 40-50g and I gain weight. It sucks, but I just have to listen to my body.

In the last two weeks I have stopped snacking, stopped fast food, stopped craving carbs (because that's what happens when I limit them), and I've started feeling better already. I know the weight will slowly peel off and that it'll take some time...right now I'm eating 900-1200 calories, 40carbs, and 100protein and seeing how things go. Let us know how you proceed. I might even check in regularly if I'm not the only vet : )

Congrats on the love thing, and wish you all the best!

Yeah, if only the avatar face was mine. Good old fashioned 1998 videogame CG--classic. ^^

You know what I mean!!  I think you only showed us your not game face once.

But I think of you every day while I log stuff on my dietpower!  :}

Yeah, I log foods on my diet power software every day, too. I might even upgrade next year ^^

I should do a thread on the software for newbies, but I think most people prefer to use fitday and freebies.

Thank you for sharing your story and keeping it real.  It helps those of us who are new to the game to hear from people who are farther out, the good the bad and the ugly!  These boards are a safe place to come and find others who "get it" because out in the real world, most of us don't talk about this stuff.  I am also tickled for you that you have found love!
