GOAL! - And How I Got There...
WEIGH TO GO! WHEY TO GO! WAY TO GO - AWAY! - Lose the weight, that is...
Big contrats to you on getting there and sharing your experience. I hope your candor helps clarify for many who are early in this process that there are no shortcuts - it takes hard, hard work and consistency of purpose. You've obviously demonstrated that. I'm 4 mos. post-op and down 100 lbs., only b/c I'm consistent with my intake and output. For me it is as simple as mindful eating, honest monitoring and daily exercise.

Awesome post - not only because of the amount of loss achieved so quickly, but for the content.
I myself, as a slow-losing, post-menopausal female, have had to accept that my own journey will take considerably longer, but I've taken the sage advice of not comparing myself to others, but to be happy that I AM losing, and this also allows me to be happy to see such wonderful lossage for others.
Like you, one of my biggest revelations was WHAT to eat and not eat. I also don't get the notion of going back to the cookie, ice cream, cake, taco, fries, etc., simply because we can. Just eating less crap won't necessarily get ME to goal (actually, I know it won't). I always liked good food and stuff that nourishes my body, but couldn't reconcile it with my food addiction. Well, now that I have the tool, why not take advantage of it? I reason that learning to eat right and well now will help when I reach goal, where many of us can eat considerably more than when we're a few months out. I would hate to be in a position where I've been eating pizza and burgers in small doses along the way, then begin to have the capacity to eat them almost the way I did before. It scares me, so I want to learn to enjoy eating well right out of the gate. I believe it will make things easier down the road.
I think you are proof that if you work the sleeve, the sleeve works for you.

What a super "upper" of a post. Everyone should bookmark this and take a look at it when they are having a "down" day in this journey. You have done well and I agree with what you say as far as methods and realizations. Its all the truth.
So congrats on meeting your goal. Another 100+ pounds bites the dust. Hope you will be active in the maintenance group as you will no doubt have a lot to offer.
Kudos and rah rah rah!!!!

What a wonderful post!! Like a previous poster said, it's like you are in my head. I too don't understand all the posts about all the crap people can/do eat, especially in the weight loss phase. Why would you???
Anyway, thanks for the great post, and many congrats to your weight loss and reaching goal. What an inspiration you are!
