High fat, high sugar, foods affect the brain's dopamine levels the same way cocaine does.  Doughnuts really can produce an addiction response just like cocaine... So can sausage, bacon, pancakes, cookies, cheesecake, icecream and Pizza to name a few....

I do not believe people when they say they are vegetarians and they are MO.  I just don't believe it.

I know three people that are strict vegetarians and are MO.  They don't eat meat on moral grounds and they are VERY serious about it.  I watched my friend eat many times, and I can't say I am all that surprised that she is MO.

You can be a vegetarian and eat a ton of sugar and organic things that are really high in fat and calories. Just being vegetarian doesn't stop you from eating 3,000 calories a day.

3000?? there is no meat in a venti mocha W/ a low fat muffin at Sbux! but there is 120+ carbs mostly from sugar and like almost 1000 cals, then you hit a restaurant for lunch....appetizer (meatless nachos perhaps) fettuccine Alfredo (W/ the free bread!),   maybe dessert? before dinner we are at well over 3000! BTW  I have vegetarian friends...and some in my family.....some do eat like this!  Then they wonder why they are MO! Hmm??

Seriously?  You don't think "vegetarians" can get fat on ....pasta,  rice,  cheese, crackers, cookies, ice cream, potatoes,
Many "third world countries eat beans and rice/bread  as "staples" of their diet.........are they all lean?   MOST people don't get "fat" eating ......fish, beef, chicken, pork, etc.  the problem is we eat meat AND the wrong type of carbs too.......plus dessert !  There are some "vegetarians on this board who were MO on a "vegetarian"  lifestyle.  Don't think they were cheating W/ grilled fish or chicken!  If they were.....the may not have needed WLS!

I never said I don't think it's possible, I said I don't believe you're eating 3-5000 calories a day in fruits, veggies and nuts.  The strict vegetarians I know tend to be healither people, heck, even those that eat fish and eggs aren't eating 2 dozen eggs a day.

I know more than a few closet eaters also.  I just don't buy it.  I think there's a lot of denial and shame when it comes to being MO.

You can be a vegetarian and eat nothing but junk all day.  Not all vegetarians eat a diet of fruit veggies, whole grains and tofu.
