Alexa,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience.   Please stay with us and keep us posted on your situation. I watched the plication you tube and research it.   The idea that it is suppose to be reversible, and less invasive is very appealing.
But some how, I did not like the idea of my stomach being rolled up within itself.  I felt much more comfortable with the sleeve.
On the other hand, there are risks with any procedure.   But apparently, all plications are not reversible unless they are reversed soon after surgery.  In your case, yours is not reversible at all. I hope you do well, and we will support you here on OH.

First of all...I am so sorry about your experience. Your story is my biggest fear. I have yet to have surgery and thank you sharing your story. I see so much positive information and am seeking the negatives so I can be fully educated. My only question is this....did your health insurance pay for the complications? I am told over and over not to go to Mexico because if there are any complications then there is not a doctor that will touch me and health care won't cover. Can you share any information about that? Thanks again and congratulations on your weight loss!! Way to go!!

Thanks so much for postng this. I am so sorry to hear what you have gone through. I am glad you are doing better. On 1/10/11 I had my WL surgery. My Dr. and I wanted to do the sleeve but my insurance would not cover it. So my other option to get similar results was the plication combined with the lap band. Combining the two is in the early experimental stages. Due to my high BMI I am need of RNY but my surgeon felt it would be safer if I lost atleast another 100 lbs first. That is why I got the plication with the band. I hope and pry I don't have the complicatins that you have had.

Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing as far as complicatins and weight loss. We are a rare breed and I to was unsure which board I fit into as far as posting.
