I know you would probably have to wait until you are off liquids, but I found  a pure protein bar smores flavored that is actually pretty decent it has 19 gms of protein only 2gm sugars .I figured a couple of bites here and there during the day to help get protein in during your first couple of months along with a protein drink or 2 you would almost have all your protein in.I know its not something you should get your protein from all the time but just for a couple of months while you are recovering etc..

Years ago I looked for protein bars with as low a carb count as I could find, and they tasted like soap, LOL, because they filled the bars with glycerin to make up bulk.  These days the tasty ones I've found have carb contents a bit high.  Also since I eat small meals five times a day they don't really make up what I consider a "meal."  So I don't eat them often.  That said, I have probably four Luna bars in my purse right now, along with some almonds and a bag of chicken teriyaki bites.  So that I have things that work for me if I find myself caught out somewhere and unable to eat.

I eat protien bars for breakfast cause I cant  do a big breakfast and it is a better choice than cereal.. I eat the special k bars.. only 10 g of protien but they are fairly small so I can actually eat them in one sitting.. there are other bars that I eat that are larger,  such as a cliff protien bar, when I am out and about and I know that I wont be able to stop to eat or there isnt a good place to eat.  most of my carbs during the day do come from the protien bars though

I hope I can eat protein bars in the future.  I found some Really awesome ones pre-surgery.  They were actually part of my pre-surgery diet.  Bariwise Bars are relatively small, but have anywhere from 12-15 grams of protein.  They come in wonderful flavors: Flavors: Caramel Crunch, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Marshmallow, Double Peanut Butter, Caramel Brownie, Oatmeal, Peanut Caramel Delight, Rockie Road, Strawberry Cheesecake, Caramel Nut.  Personally I loved the Caramel Crunch, Peanut Butter, Rocky Road and the Caramel Brownie.  But really they are all pretty good.  I get them online from Bariatric Choice.  The website also carries Wonderslim bars.. the chocolate mint it to die for.  Hope this helps!

I LOVE Pure Protein bars!  I eat one every day on maintenance.  During the losing phase, I would eat half a South Beach bar for breakfast (I hadn't yet discovered Pure Protein).  Their new Peanut Butter Caramel Surprise is super mega delicious.  Better than a candy bar.

I love those smore bars and usually have one a day.  These are the exact bars that is mentioned the The Gastric Sleeve book.  I have one a day but I am thinking I shouldn't be doing that until I am in done losing..I am not sure so I will be interested to hear what answers you get.
