How Long does it take for UHC to respond?

I just went to my last appointment and turned in all of my docs, how long does it take for UHC to respond?

My surgery coordinator said they usually respond in about 3 weeks.  But, I am not sure if that is for ALL UHC insurances or just my perticular insurance. 

October 28, I will get my last papers so I can submit my paperwork to insurance.  I was told that I would be scheduled before the end of the year!    I hope everything goes smoothly for you!

That's when I am hoping for as well!  I would like to be pretty healed up by Christmas, as I have 3 small children!

I have three children too, 6, 9, and 17!

The nurse told me that it should take about two weeks for approval. She could get me scheduled within two weeks after they receive the approval but I would like to wait until after my husband's birthday and the end my son's football season. I need to be healed before Christmas too!

My paperwork was submitted on August 12th......found out I was approved on August 24th. Pretty quick for me......but I did keep calling UHC to check the status.

I agree, it is QUICK!  My husband was approved within the same week it seems!  He had the lapband done 5 months ago!  So, I think they are a pretty fast approving company!  They approve ALL surgeries, so there aren't any red tapes to cut through!  I think that might be why!  Plus, my husband and I are both WELL within the BMI range to have the surgery!
