Medical Mutual of Ohio

I have a friend that is considering the VSG and she has Medical Mutual of Ohio. Any one else have this type of insurance? DO they cover the surgery? What kind of hoops do you have to jump through? Any help with this is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have Medical Mutual of Ohio. They require 6 months of weight evaluation, either with a Doctor, Nutritionist or something like Weigh****chers. It has to be documented  and you can't miss a month. They also want to see weight loss each month. You will need to see a shrink  for an evaluation. If you are in the Cleveland area, I highly recommend St. Vincent Charity and Dr. Ben-Meir. The cost out of pocket is $350.00 and $30.00 per month to see their nutritionist, but WELL worth any expense. They did all of my paperwork and assign you a person to walk you through anything that has to do with your insurance company. They even write all of your letters and if you need to appeal the insurance company they will help you with that too. The nursing staff there was top notch and the Bariatric unit is all BRAND NEW. The Hospital staff was fantastic. I can't say enough about them. And Dr. Ben-Meir is THE BOMB!
