Thank you so much for the picture for comparison!  I was googling all over the place last night for images of the citracal petites to try to figure out how big they were.

That is appreciated so much!!!

Why do you not want to take the Celebrate chewables any longer? The taste or just the pain of having to eat all those chews every day? Are the Calcet creamy bites better tasting?

Thanks again!

No problem!

My issue with the Celebrate chewables is that every time I take them, I feel nauseous.  I don't know if it's the taste, the texture or the chalkiness, but I just can't do it.  I hate that I've bought a 3 month supply of them and haven't even gone through a month's worth of them, but I just can't tolerate them anymore.  I took the Citracal Petites for the first time today and so far, so good.  The Calcet creamy bites are like little mini cakes.  If you go to Celebrate Vitamins' website, you can see them.  I had a sample of the lemon cream and it was scrumptious!  I plan on doing those once a day (as opposed to 3-4 times a day) because they've got about 40 calories per creamy bite and they're a bit pricey.  Once a day will be fine... it'll be like a little treat!

I know what you mean- I have a huge three month supply tub of the bariatric advantage cherry lozenges that I have used less than 2 weeks of. Oh well-live and learn.
Thanks again for all the info-I sure am hoping that its not the actual calcium citrate that upsets my stomach, but just the brand that I was taking.

It more likely is your protein shake upsetting your stomach. Many people become lactose intolerant after surgery and most protein powders have lactose in them.  I have never heard of calcium giving diarhea, actually it usually causes constipation.  I would try getting some lactaid pills and take 2 immediately before ingesting your protein shakes and if you use milk in your shakes, use lactaid milk instead.  See if this helps.  I use the cherrry lozenges from bariatric advantage and they definitely dont' have a salty taste.  I love them, they taste like a cherry sweet tart.  I also love the raspberry chewie - that tastes like a starburst. I never tried the lemon but I hate anything lemon.

The petites are a good option but they are only 200mg each, so you need to take7-8 a day.  Costco doesnt make petites, only citrical.

Luckily it is isn't the shakes-that would be a pain!  I have been drinking them without ANY stomach problems 2-3 times per day for the last 2 weeks.  I stopped taking the lozenges and the diarrhea stopped then on two different occasions I added them back in and the stomach rumbling and diarrhea was immediately back. So I am 99.9% sure they are the culprit.

I only really taste the salty taste now post surgery-probably due to the heightened sense of smell/taste we experience after surgery.  Upon researching why they tasted salty to me I found information like the following to explain.

Chemical properties

Calcium citrate is an odorless white powder soluble in cold water. Like citric acid, calcium citrate has a sour taste. Like other salts, however, it also has a salty taste. For this reason, citrates such as sodium and calcium citrate are commonly known as sour salt.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help everyone! I think I will stick with calcium carbonate for a few weeks and then try swallowing the petites. Hopefully the diarrhea is from an ingredient specific to Bariatric advantage brand. BTW I love their chewable multi vitamins in orange and have been taking them daily since a few days after surgery.
