Ok, so will I ever be able to....
Aww Tonya, we have been there and can relate. Its just that at the stage you are in you have to be careful ,of course you know that...but I went through "withdrawals" the first month after surgery. Wondering how in the hell I was going to make it on the diet I had been prescribed...and since I had my surgery right before the holidays, I had to endure sweets and chocolates which are my weakness...I was tempted and fell a few times. So yes we all make mistakes. At 3 months post op, I feel like the light bulb has JUST finally come on and I have had my "AHA" moment JUST HERE RECENTLY, so now I am in the fat burning zone (low carbs and exercising) ....what everyone is saying is ...this is a lifelong journey, that you have just begun..things can be much different for you if you follow the path that has been laid before you...that means low carbing it ( and exercising ) for a while you meet your weight loss goals...you have begun your first step to a healthier lifestyle...that is your journey that you have ahead of you... (and all of us for that matter)...carbs may/will slow down your progress...Followup with your MD about your food plan...Michelle...like Ms. Shell said the pre op you and the post op you will be much different in lifestyles.......
Tonya - it will be better, please have faith and trust in that.
I'm 7 weeks out and I still have days where I don't want to eat, want to eat the wrong things, etc. They pass. Or, I do what my head tells me to do and REGRET it for hours on end. So, I've learned to do what I know is right and generally I feel better.
In 3 days, you'll get some dairy. Milk, cottage cheese, refried beans, yogurt. When you can have these things, I believe you will feel better. More choices, less opportunity or need to "fantasize" about other foods (i.e. rice).
Chin up. You are going to make it!!

You'll be able to eat anything you want down the road. You will need to make wise choices though as this is only a tool, not some kind of miracle. We don't pass food through without digesting it like some of the other procedures. So a few bites of rice later on will be fine if you are judicious about it.
You might want to read here for some post surgery guidelines as it sounds as though you are pushing your sleeve a bit early.

I'm sure you will do well as you are motivated.

The old broad
I eat anything I feel like eating. You will be able to do the same thing, eventually.
Right now, STICK TO YOUR DIET. Don't rush things, stick to what you were told to eat.
If you can't, or won't, follow your dietary plan, you will not do well over the long run, so it is important to stick as close to it as you can. Trust me, it's worth it.
