Does anyone here have a magic bullet blender?
you can get much cheaper versions of this gadget. I got one called Bella something-or -other at Kohls for about $25. It works fine and i am glad i have it. but it does tend to whip a lot of air into drinks and swallowing that air can increase the burp factor and make you feel full. sometimes i strain off the froth. d
I have one and I use it just about every day. I use it only for shakes though--nothing fancy. I think you have to play around with it in terms of whether you like adding any ice (which can make a shake too much like a freeze), and how much to blend since it does add a fair bit of air to the shake. It's nice for it's small size and ease of cleaning. It saves me money in the long run since I make my own protein shakes from powder instead of buying premixed ones. If I couldn't make a shake in three minutes including clean up, I'd probably be too lazy, as a non-cook, and waste a lot of money on premades.
I bought a old "Osterizer" blender at the local thrift store for $4.
The blade assembly will also screw onto standard pint and quart size Ball canning type jars.
I put my milk, powder, and ice into the jar and spin on the blade assembly and put it onto the motor base. I have full control over the speed then so you have some control of how foamy it gets. I just rinse off the blade assembly and drink out of the jar. This is easier than rinsing out the entire blender assembly after pouring it into a serving cup, and is basically what you have to do with the magic bullet.
I also have a collection of plastic quart jars from "Light House" brand salad dressing which happens to have the same screw top and can be used instead of the Ball Jars.
I also make my decaff Iced tea a gallon at a time and put it into the quart jars with lids to put into the Fridge. That way I can easily keep track of how much liquids I have consumed.

I have one. It's useless for chopping, which was a disappointment, but it's a decent little mini blender, and is small enough to leave out on the counter all the time. The plastic containers are all very thin and lightweight and will break easily, and they feel cheap in your hand, none of which I care for. The bits and pieces it comes with (too many, IMO) don't store well - no nesting features. All 4 of the mugs ended up in a zip-lock in the basement after they fell over one too many times in the top of the cabinet. The blender attachment is particularly chintzy feeling, and also wound up in the basement. I only use the two closed containers (small and large), simply because I don't care for the mugs and their handles.
Overall, I'd give it a C+ ... convenient and small and easy to clean, unlike my heavy duty and HEAVY and large CuisineArt blender, which I use maybe twice a year.
When this one dies, I'm not sure I'd replace it - and if I did, it would be with a cheaper version with less attachments.
Would love to hear what people think about immersion blenders?
