= )  Thanks sweet Ani!!!

In the last 2 months, I have noticed how quickly you can tone the muscle you already have.  I have seen a tremendous difference in my arms especially.  I was doing some Lat Pulls the other day with a friend and my husband and our friend was sitting on the opposite side of the machine watching me doing the exercise and he pulled my husband over and made him watch my arms.  It was so funny because I had no idea what they were going on about.  The friend had me turn around and face a mirror and do them and I saw a VERY strong muscular arm under the hanging flap of skin that I thought was my arm...  All I could say was "holy **** is that my arm?"  They just laughed at me.

I could seriously kick myself for not committing myself to this sooner.  But honestly, I don't think I was ready...  I'm ready now and I'm having a blast!!!

Who'da thunk it...   Me liking exercising!!  Insane!!!

Love ya Ani!!!!

ps...  Just do it!!!  Be proactive!!!!  You can do it!!!

Lauren,

CONGRATULATIONS to you! You have done so well and you should be very proud of your progress.  And the fact that you have now gotten into an exercise regime; that is amazing. Don't beat yourself up for not starting earlier - what is done is done and the important thing is you are doing it now.
I don't love exercising AT ALL - I do walk everyday though but know I have to start doing more.

I also want to thank you and congratulate you for the insightful, informative and touching philosophical messages you contribute on the vsg + discussion group site. While you have been learning (as you said), so have we!

All the best to you!

You made me cry!!!

I am in awe of you. You, Beth, Lori G and many others inspire me greatly. I started this journey with much more to lose than most (200 plus pounds) and I know I can do this. I too get very frustrated sometimes and it seems so far away but I strive everyday to make the changes I need to make to improve my quality of life. I hope you are still lurking when I hit my two year mark so I can share my joy with you as you have with me.
I will heed your advice and get off my arse!!

Lauren, I don't know what more I can say about you that the above haven't already.  I personally am truly encouraged and motivated by you.  Please never stop posting your story here.  It's reality for many and although I'm no expert like most here and still new in my journey success is there for all of us if we want it badly enough.  Thank you for kicking me in the butt to move more!  I'm walking the dog tonight even if I don't want to!  Good for you!

Hi Lauren!

I just love your attitude.  Rather than beating yourself up over "wasted time" you have chosen to make it a positive and turn it into a life lesson!  And that you chose to share it with us, makes it special!

Although I am still pre-op, my road to WLS has been paved with lessons whi*****luded finally accepting that exercise must be a regular aspect of my life!  It was hard to accept initially, and I will admit that it is sometimes still a battle.  Funny, not because it doesn't feel good and provide an amazing sense of accomplishment once done, but rather, just breaking out of inertia!  (I am lazy at heart!)  The best tool for increasing activity has been getting AND wearing a good pedometer AT ALL TIMES!  Although I hate the days when I don't move enough, I can't lie to myself!  Your reminder that the sleeve is just a tool for decreasing food intake but is only part of the solution, is a great kick in the pants for me as I get close to beginning my VSG journey!  I will heed your warning to avoid complacency..........which is my natural inclination!  Thank you!

You are so committed to making yourself a priority and achieving WL success, that I have no doubt that you will accomplish whatever you desire!  Best wishes to you and thank you for sharing!

Good point about the pedometer.  I forgot I do have one (in my underwear drawer).  Might do me some good right about now!  I'll be wearing it tomorrow and tracking my steps!

Congratulations, Lauren!  You are doing great - you have come such a long way.  Not much further to Onderland for YOU!

I totally agree with you about the exercise, I try to leave work every day on time and have a firm workout schedule.  Even if I have to log back into work after I work out, I get my exercise in.  I feel so much better, after my workout.

Di.
