Abby - Thank you for the advice and insight.  You look amazing and it sounds like you feel fantastic and what more could anyone ask for?  Three years and you are still in control is empowering to hear.  Thank you.   Julie

Thanks Julie! It gets easier with time, the changes you make early out do become habits, and I think that makes a world of difference.

Aloha Abby-
Thank you, thank you, thank you for returning home after leaving the nest and scribing some terrific insight. There are so few people out over 3 years - as you said the board has alot more members now than when you blazed the trail for us! It is encouraging and a bit of a relief to see it can be done...and maintained. I so agree with the scale as the end all- I really did this to be healthy again, and that for me includes exercise and proper nutrition and emotional well being so that food is not my pacifier/stress reliever/boredom buster.
Enjoy living life now- I know prior to this I was merely existing for so many decades!
XOXO Lori

Hi Lori!

I love you attitude! You're always so positive and warm, that's such a beautiful thing.

As far as the scale deal, I will never forget:
I had reached like my 3rd stall, was having the usual melt down, and a woman named Nano (I love her to this day for this) told me to "hide the scale."
That was the best advice, ever.
Like, ever.

Keep enjoying your new, beautiful life!

The post from those of you several years out give us so much to look forward to.  You are so inspiring to those of us still learning our tools and losing our weight.  thanks for all the advice (especially about not stressing the stalls and making the scale a golden calf).  I hope you keep coming around posting every now and then.

I was definitely a golden calf worshiper in the beginning--I used to get on that thing several times a day (when I woke up, after I peed, after I walked, before I ate, after I ate, before I brushed my teeth...) and then I finally just stopped. Cold turkey. Worst addiction I've ever broken!

I promise to try to be more accessable!

Thank you!
Abby
