Has anyone tried Juice Plus protein shakes?

I am thinking about trying it. The Juice Plus vendor dropped off some samples for me but I haven't tried it yet. I asked my husband to read though the literature and tell me what he thinks ( he is a personal trainer) but he has been too busy to do so.  So I thought I would ask all you wonderful knowledeable peeps if you had any experience with it.

Here is part of the email she sent me......
Juice Plus is EXCELLENT nutrition for someone who has had Gastric Bypass...because they can only have limited amounts of food and most of that needs to be protein based, most do not & cannot get anywhere near the recommended servings of fruits & veggies. -- Yet they still need the nutrition. I have attached a newsletter.  There is a doctor profiled in it, Dr. Titus Duncan.  He is one of the leading surgeons in the country that performs this surgery. He HIGHLY recommends JP. Dr. Titus Duncan says, "The oxidative stress during & following surgery can be overwhelming to a patient" and that is why he encourages JP. If I'm not mistaken, he won't operate on his patients unless they have JP in their system for etleast 30 days prior to surgery & requires it post operatively for healing as well.   Most people that are at the 6 month + post surgery mark can take the capsules as anyone else would (start with 1 and 1 for about a week - then move up to 2 and 2)    For those that are just after surgery (once they are "off" clear liquids" - they can begin to take it by opening up the capsule and adding it to a protein shake (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE COMPLETE--which is our shake mix, see attachment)  Those that have a hard time digesting "pills" can do the same thing.

After reading your post I had to research this product.  It sounded like what I was looking for.  Well, my mom always told me if something seems too good to be true....
After just a few minutes of research I realized this company is a pyramid scheme..or multi-layered marketing, as they call it.  Also, there seem to be numerous studies that show the labeling is incorrect (in reference to the amount of vitamin and nutrients in each pill) and the claims of the company are without scientific merit.  The studies done by the company (or sponsored by them) are not scientifically conducted without double blinds, placebos, or adequete participants.
If someone is going to give you this for free it can;t hurt to take it, but I would watch your wallet and research more before shelling out any cash...they are selling for like $41 a month per their website (available four months at a time only- $160 bucks!)
Just my opinion....

Yes It is a pyramid company but it's an excellent product. A lot of good products are sold via MLM's. That doesn't inheriently make the product poor. We have taken the capsules for 3 years. I feel a notceable difference in energy and over all well being when I miss a few days. I signed up to get the discount and never sold ANYTHING and it's never been a problem. I didn't even know they had shakes cause I don't check into it. I will now. Thanks.

I wasn't saying it was a bad product just because of that, I was saying be warned about that.  The bigger issue I think is that independent studies have shown that the pills have negligible positive effects that are very similar to regular vitamins (specifically E and C)...and they are very expensive for the benefits (not my opinion- the Univ. of Cali's opinion).  I am glad you find them to be working for you though....
