Good Afternoon,

I'm new to the site and have been reading over a lot of different posts.  Is there anywhere that has all the abbreviations that are used?  I get so lost sometimes because I have no idea what is being talked about.  Like what is an "NSV"?

I'm in the process of scheduling my surgery so I plan to be on here a lot in the future.

Hi neighbor!  Prairieville, LA here!       Yeh, i'm kinda with ya on those abbreviations and i've joined this over a yr ago, but haven't been consistent online.

I do have a question for people.  Who is my "NUT"?  Is that the doc or dietician or what?  And is that a "good" term or not?  And where did it come from?

Oh, Kris, i know the most popular (i think).  Don't know if u know these or not.

WLS= Weight Loss Surgery
VSG= Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy

I am pretty sure ( at least it means it for me) that NUT is nutritionist. Not positive or negative, just shorter to type, lol...

There is a list of common abbreviations at:

Hope this helps, and welcome to the site!

Thank you all so much!  All of this was so helpful.  I can see that this is going to be a lifeline before and after surgery.

I have been on here a few months and I still don't know all of them but I learn eventually.  I think NSV means "non-scale victory"....somebody correct me if I am wrong...
