Foot pain, joint pain, sleep apnea, always tired is there any hope?
I will have the surgery soon and hope that it will help with all of my medical issues, but I would like to hear from others who have/had these problems and whether it has helped.
Thank you
Kelly
Now I am not tempting fate and going out to train for a marathon but one fact I have seen many times is, "for every pound lost you take 18 pounds of pressure off your knees." My knees can tell.
As far as sleep apnea - well I am still sleeping in a chair because of some surgery belly soreness (can't lay flat yet) but again last night (3rd in a row) I sleep very soundly for about 5 hours.
Hang in there and keep asking questions. This site is a godsend and the people here are my angels. It will all come together Kelly.....just believe.
Peace, Eileen
Highest weight: 292 Pre-op weight: 265 Goal met: 150 Six years out: 185 and trying to lose again!
I am sleeping better at night. Vivid dreams since surgery, but they are going away too.
Good luck, you will feel so much better.

It will get better just hang in there.
Kelly Check out my profile. You sound like me! I had sleep apnea, foot problems, knee pain, joint pain/Arthritis & fibromyalgia pain. After losing 80 lbs with VSG, 15 lbs pre-op diet and another 24 lbs I am so much better. My Pain level was a 8 ( on a scale of 1-10) most days. now it is probably between 0 and 2 depending on what I am doing.
My sleep apnea is gone, (I need to go in for a overnight test to be sure), but I stopped snoring when I'd lost about 45 lbs after surgery... I actually can go to sleep and wake up refreshed in the AM (if I let my self get the 8 hrs of sleep I need!!) The problems with my foot (bones moving, arthritis, spurs etc...) much better. If I go without my orthotics my feet can hurt, but nothing like before
My joints feel better, but I have permanent damage, exercise really helps, getting the weight off makes exercise so much easier!. I would be doing better but I fell and have been recovering from that, sure am glad I was 119 lb less at the time of the fall!!
Also brought my BP to a normal level (was borderline high)
I still have high cholesterol. I am starting to focus on getting that down. Losing weight can help alot of issues.
Good luck!
