Pain in Shoulder if over eating
I have been wanting to ask this question and kept thinking it would go away. I have since day one had shoulder pain mostly in my left shoulder if I over eat. Generally that is my que to stop. Cant tell when I am full via my stomach. If I keep eating then my mid back will hurt and the right shoulder too. I usually do not let it get that far. If it does the nose will run too. lol. I have searched the board over and over and can't find much on the subject. I am nearly 6 months out now and know it isn't a sign of a leak or anything like that. Just wondering if this is for life and why it is happening. Any input would be great.
Thanks

Sorry, not sure about that one. I'm only about 3 weeks out, and I get a pain in the middle of my chest if i've over done it. It sounds like you are having referred pain. Maybe call your surgeons office and ask them if it's common. Haven't seen anything like that posted here either as far out as you are. good luck.
I had pain in my left shoulder from day one but it got really bad at about 1 month. I had 3 CT's done at various ER visits and nothing showed up. It wasn't until about 2 months that they discovered a leak. I spent 8 1/2 weeks without food or water waiting for the darned thing to close. The pain went away once I stopped eating and drinking. It is related to the diaphram and fluids or air getting trapped beneath it. I'm not saying you have a leak, but it might not hurt to check it out just to be safe. Mine hurt all of the time and I also had a lot of nausea. Good luck.
I had the Lap Band done almost 2 weeks ago. About 4-5 days after..the shoulder pain started...and it was mostly when I was driving...somewhat felt like it was starting on the left side around my heart and traveling up to my left shoulder...at times I felt like I would die! I've too heard it was something about the gas/air...but I don't know...strange it would only be when I'm driving...but it's terrible pain! I saw the PA a few days ago...her solution: to drive with my arm straight down at my side...hmmmm well if I could actually fit my arm between myself and the door, maybe I would not have had the surgery in the first place! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one suffering with this issue!
Hi
I just had my lap band on Dec 8 and ahve had left shoulder pain since , left shoulder pain can be a result of being put to sleep but it can alos be a sign of idestion whihc I belive is going on with me as I drink to fast , this monring it came on so sudden and hurt like carzy after I drank to fast but teh sharpness went away. I starrted looking at the boards to see if others had this experince as it was not mentione dto me as a possible outcome . However I still would have had teh lap band I feel no hunger or desire to eat.
