Unjury Chicken Soup

I am having a bit of a problem with my Unjury chicken soup flavor protein powder.  I have tried it twice now by adding a scoop to warm broth, but both times it wouldn't dissolve, and it clumped.  I have a meat thermometer and made sure that the broth was less that 130 degrees both times (125 first time, 118 second time).

Does anyone have good luck with this product?  If so, can you give me a tip on how it works best for you?  Do you use water or broth?  Do I need to add the powder slower?  Do you add the powder before heating the liquid, and if so, how do you prevent heating it higher than 130 degrees?

Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions!

With the powdered proteins, you have to mix it cold, then warm it.  It's like trying to mix flour in ho****er, you get little balls!!!

I mix mine with warm water...it justs takes awhile. I used to make instant hot chocolate as a kid and had the same problem, so I don't really think it's a big deal, but that's just me. ;)

Try just using warm water for the chicken protein rather than broth, since it is already flavored.  I tried adding unflavored unjury to beef broth last night and had the same problem.  However, I was at work last week and tried a sample package and really liked the unjury chicken protein with warm water.  I didn't have a thermometer, but it wasn't real warm.  I was surprised how good the chicken protein was with warm water.  Good luck!  Sammy

What I do to get it to dissolve is empty the Unjury packet into a pyrex 1 cup measuring cup.  Then I add about 2-4 tablespoons of water (a "splash" from the tap) and I stir it to make sort of a thin paste.  I stir and stir.  Eventually, all the little balls break down.  Then I heat up my chicken broth in a separate mixing bowl until it's hot enough.  Then I add a little warm broth to the Unjury paste to semi-warm it up and mix well.  Then I dump the whole Unjury into the warm broth and stir.  It completely dissolves and tasted great with no lumps.  I think the trick it to make that paste first.  I do the same with Matrix choc protein powder. I added my powder to cold water on the stove and then whisk as it heats up.  For a even better flavor I use some skim milk and it makes it really creamy!!  I would have never made it the first stage without my unjury broth and Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix!
