I think there comes a point where we need to get realistic. There is a huge difference between a lynch mob and a person accepting the consequences of her own behaviors.
Most states do not permit counseling by LPNs, she is an LPN.
ALL states have to follow HIPAA laws, she is no exception.
Morality dictates that doing what she attempted to do is creepy and low down.
She has had more than enough opportunity to come back, edit her post, delete her post, apologize for really horrible behavior, etc. She chooses not to do that.
This is hardly a lynch mob.
You are correct, you don't have to like it, just like I don't have to like it when others let people get away with horrible behaviors that are against the law, inappropriate, against nursing standards, and simply mean. If she would have made an effort to clean up that post and simply apologize to the one she was directing her behaviors to, I could have understood a bit. But clearly she stands behind her statements.
She is simply going to have to deal with the consequences of her own behaviors. We expect the same of children, why should she be an exception and especially considering all the above?
There is an ex-nurse on the band forum that had her nursing license revoked. She kept claiming she was a licensed RN, heck... she even claimed to be a NP and turns out, she's a 2 year RN with a revoked license due to a felony conviction and fibbing on her RN renewal application. She has a long history.
She was creating fake medical records of those she did not like and passing them around via PM claiming they were real. Turns out, she could have gotten the doc sued that she was claiming she got them from. He could have lost his license. Come to find out she's full of it, she can't even maintain her own license let alone start messing with the license of another.
How many chances do you think we should give her? Think about it, she did essentially the same thing. How would you feel if people were getting fake medical records in their PMs and it was about YOU? You might have a change of heart if it was involving you, don't you think?
What if it was your doc that was open to lawsuits and license revocation? Would that be okay too in the name of not wanting to be a lynch mob?
These things can get *seriously* out of hand in a short time. Not only is she not legally qualified to be doing weight loss counseling, she has no moral or legal right to try and post personal medical information about a patient on the internet.
