Bariatric eating.com-DON"T USE THEM

We are approaching this from two very different perspectives.  I am a nurse and there is a certain amount of legal responsibility and moral integrity that is "required" to maintain a license.  If you don't maintain that then you need to find another profession before you are forced into finding a new profession. There are some mistakes that are unforgivable in medicine.  Attempting to humiliate someone with medical records is one of them.  That's not a human error, that's a lack of moral integrity.  That kind of a person does not need to be in medicine.

I guess you'll do what you think you have to.  But I don't have to like it.  Like I said, I have been on the other end of a lynch mob, and it took me years to recover.  I was lucky because I was young enough to rebuild, but if it happened again now, it would destroy me.  So I don't try to tank someone else's life unless I see them actually do someone harm, and I don't much like seeing others do it.

I think there comes a point where we need to get realistic.  There is a huge difference between a lynch mob and a person accepting the consequences of her own behaviors. Most states do not permit counseling by LPNs, she is an LPN. ALL states have to follow HIPAA laws, she is no exception. Morality dictates that doing what she attempted to do is creepy and low down. She has had more than enough opportunity to come back, edit her post, delete her post, apologize for really horrible behavior, etc.  She chooses not to do that. This is hardly a lynch mob. You are correct, you don't have to like it, just like I don't have to like it when others let people get away with horrible behaviors that are against the law, inappropriate, against nursing standards, and simply mean.  If she would have made an effort to clean up that post and simply apologize to the one she was directing her behaviors to, I could have understood a bit.  But clearly she stands behind her statements. She is simply going to have to deal with the consequences of her own behaviors.  We expect the same of children, why should she be an exception and especially considering all the above? There is an ex-nurse on the band forum that had her nursing license revoked.  She kept claiming she was a licensed RN, heck... she even claimed to be a NP and turns out, she's a 2 year RN with a revoked license due to a felony conviction and fibbing on her RN renewal application.  She has a long history. She was creating fake medical records of those she did not like and passing them around via PM claiming they were real.  Turns out, she could have gotten the doc sued that she was claiming she got them from.  He could have lost his license.  Come to find out she's full of it, she can't even maintain her own license let alone start messing with the license of another. How many chances do you think we should give her?  Think about it, she did essentially the same thing.  How would you feel if people were getting fake medical records in their PMs and it was about YOU?  You might have a change of heart if it was involving you, don't you think? What if it was your doc that was open to lawsuits and license revocation?  Would that be okay too in the name of not wanting to be a lynch mob? These things can get *seriously* out of hand in a short time.  Not only is she not legally qualified to be doing weight loss counseling, she has no moral or legal right to try and post personal medical information about a patient on the internet.

Again, you do whatever you think you have to.  You don't need MY approval.  But you might check out Supermom2's post to see another reason why I think this idea does more harm than good.

I read her profile and in March 2008 she says she is an LPN. She was working toward her RN but didn't finish. So she is presenting herself as a nurse and giving advice and violating HIPPA. This just creates another concern about bariatric eating as a company.

Wow, you're a nurse, a bariatric  PROFESSIONAL who is held in HIGH regards, and you post a message that says: "If memory serves me right... would you be the one who come into the store that had surgery down here that is gaining weight back, and disagreed with my reasoning why??? Just some food for thought!" Miss Dolly, I am a nurse, and WOULD NEVER put a patient of mine down like that. I do not need to toot my own horn either. I am shocked that ANY "professional" would air out a PATIENTS/PERSONS details (HIPPA) in an open forum like this... I hope other patients of yours see this and understand that you have no consideration with how you handle their confidential information. And, as I read - from the emails and her posts that she HAS NOT EVEN had surgery yet... so, unfortunately you are not only a poor nurse and professional, but you may have a reading comprehension problem all because you are trying to stick up for your boss/business/or whatever you have to the cause. Quite frankly, it seems like people who work with her gain her arrogance. Sad, really. Great customer service proven just in this thread...

I would not usually respond to a passive aggressive post such as the one above...........However, I do have to properly identify myself as having lost 84 pounds in the 4 months since surgery.  I have not gained an ounce.  I follow the eating guidelines given to me by the Cleveland Clinic dietician, walk several miles per day, and do Pilates.  I was just using this forum to relate my experience, which we allow here, without nasty passive aggressive digs.  I am also a well respected nurse practitioner with a MSN from the State University of New York.  My sister has an MBA from Rollins College and runs a multi million dollar company.  She is an expert in customer service, and did question the service she obtained.   True colors show, even in black and white print.  The End.

Dolly or Theresa- What's the saying, "It is best to be quiet and have people think your an ass, then open your mouth and prove it"   To make disparraging remakes when someone makes a comment about your company is bad form.  You should probably delete your message Carole
