I am also a nurse.  I think that this is horribly unprofessional for you to post this here, not to mention the fact that if this is truly the person you speak of, it borders on being a HIPAA violation. I encourage you to think before you type next time.

If you are a nurse someone should revoke your license.  A person like you has no business being in MY profession!  What the hell are you doing discussing private patient issues on a message board like this?  Is it true you are an LPN?  If so, you work for nurses (RNs) assisting them. Regardless, you shouldn't be working with patients, you don't have the professionalism to do so.  Get out of my field, you are an embarrassment to nursing. I do not believe you are held in high regard for anyone, you don't know the first thing about patient confidentiality.  You can claim anything you wi**** doesn't make it so. Honestly, someone needs to turn you into the board.

I would bet the Office of Proffesional Discipline would not be too happy with her actions.

Assuming the BON hasn't already revoked her license.  You have to admit, she's not the brightest of the bunch.

I like how she states "I am a nurse and a bariatric professional who is held in highest regards by surgeons all over the united states. I along with my company sit on the corporate council of the ASMBS." there is nothing at all professional about her responding to the previous poster with what she said.  I wonder what her company and the corporate company of ASMBS would say about that? The website states that she is an LPN for patient outreach, there is also an RN at BE, I wonder how she would feel about what has happened here?

IMO, let's just let it drop for now.  She seems to have stepped back from this - probably realizes that her post was ill-advised.  If she had pressed it, I'd be all for trying to get her in some deep poo stew, but if everyone got canned every time they made a stupid mistake, unemployment rates would be about 100%.  LOL.  Ultimately, she has helped cost her company business here, but the founder is their main problem.

Nope, there are no mistakes allowed when it comes to patient confidentiality.  That was not a mistake, she was lashing out using what little she thought she had to do so. She could have deleted her post, she could have apologized, she could have done a lot of things.  She did not. She deserves everything she has coming. I already copied the thread and I do believe I'll be sending it around to those who can do something about this.

I see your point (assuming patient confidentiality actually applies to this situation), but I guess I just don't see an upside to sinking to their level (trying to hurt someone just because they ticked me off).  The only person who has a legit complaint is the patient (whoever it was) who was talked about.  The rest of us actually reap a benefit, since we now know better than to do business with this company.  In the end, these people will shipwreck themselves, without any help from us.

Just how bad does someone have to violate their license before it is time to do something about it?  I guess that is how I am looking at it.

Maybe it's just that I've been on the receiving end of someone trying to torpedo my career.  You can destroy a person's life that way.  What she did was stupid and offensive, but NO ONE was actually harmed.  I'm not willing to take away her livelihood.  Maybe she has kids to feed.   I would hope that by giving her undeserved charity, she will see how close she came, and sort herself out before she truly does end up hurting someone and destroying herself as well.
